minefield and tbird: spacing all screwed up - workaround?

Just did yum upgrade, now minefield has huge spacing. The elements themselves are the
right size, for instance the 11 Alpha link on the home page, the search box, etc. - but
there all separated by large spaces. For instance each item in a gmail inbox list is
separated by 12 ins or more.

opera is OK.

I couldn't find a bug filed, so I did:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=488082

but I'm surprised there was no bug filed since both minefield and tbird are unusable
on my machine.

Is there some workaround? Some setting I'm missing? Zoom out doesn't work. By the
time I get the page small enough you can't read the text.
