Hello!
Thank you for your very swift update to the Ukrainian translations for
XZ Utils strings and man pages. In the latest release (and all future
ones), we moved a majority of project files from Public Domain to the
0BSD license. This impacts the PO files, so can you please change the
header of the uk.po file to something like this:
# SPDX-License-Identifier: 0BSD
#
# Ukrainian translation for xz.
# Copyright (C) The XZ Utils authors and contributors
# This file is distributed under the BSD Zero Clause License.
#
# Yuri Chornoivan <yurchor(a)ukr.net>, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024.
Similarly, for the man page translation:
# SPDX-License-Identifier: 0BSD
#
# Ukrainian translation for xz-man.
# Copyright (C) The XZ Utils authors and contributors
# This file is distributed under the BSD Zero Clause License.
#
# Yuri Chornoivan <yurchor(a)ukr.net>, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024.
It is up to you how exactly the header should look, but something
similar to this would be great.
Additionally, as you saw, a few short man pages were re-written for
this release. The prior man pages were under the GNU GPL license. As
a special case for this transition, can you please remove all of the
obsolete strings from the man page PO file? We just want to be sure
that all of the strings in the file are truly under the new license :)
One way to remove the obsolete strings is to use the msgattrib tool:
msgattrib --no-obsolete --no-wrap old.po > new.po
BTW: the translator's name is now added to the header comment in the
generated translated man page. Thanks again for all that you do!
