Hi All, I am new to this place. I want to start the Persian translation of Fedora. Because of the similarities of Persian and Arabic alphabet / fonts / unicode / blah / blah... i wanted to see if you (Rahal) could provide me on _how_ you started this thing (i.e fonts, right to left problems. etc..) Proble to Update Files

Translation deadline -- questions

As I've seen at the schedule: http://fedora.redhat.com/participate/schedule/ that the translation deadline is 9th April. Then the 19th April is the translation build freeze. What's the difference between them? Is that no translations done _after_ the 9th of April will be included in FC 2 final release? Will the translation build freeze assure that _all_ translations done (to that date) are included in FC 2? Or the translators still have to bug the maintainers so they will include them? For the Red Hat guys and girls: I reported a bug (19525) because my language is not included in anaconda installer. I'm affraid that since I labeled it as "enhancement" it might not be considered for being "solved" before FC 2 final release. What's your opinion here? Thanks! /Josep

if your language is not included in anaconda installer...

Hi! I filed the bug asking for the inclusion of all languages over the 90% of translated strings of the essential packages. The bug number is 119395, which is now closed: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=119395 For those languages that have not yet been included (bn, hi, ta, and vi, as the time of this writing), I'd like to remind you that, as stated in the bug report, you need to file for your language if you want it to be included, indicating: Full language name: Short name: Default Locale: Default keyboard map: Console font: Timezone: I did it by filing a bug with category "enhancement" to anaconda. I don't know if it is a good example, but you can check it here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=119525 I'm writing here because I personally didn't know I had to file my language, and thus it was left out from FC 2 test 2 during installation (seems that Alan missed that too :). I think it would be sad if after all your efforts your language was not included [in the installation process] just because it was not filed properly. Of course one shouldn't request the inclusion of a language which has not yet translated 90 % of the strings of the essential packages. Regards, /Josep
