I am sure, most of the people working with Fedora I18N, L10N from 5-6
year must be aware regarding Fedora L10N Steering Committee. As far
as i know this committee was active around 2009 and very effective.
During Fedora G11N activity day discussions, we again felt there is
need for some kind of official committee to drive Fedora Globalization
activities. Fedora is growing faster with number of different domains
and G11N also need to adapt those changes quickly to remain on the track.
For this purpose and in line with , we were thinking of Fedora
Globalization steering committee. I have created initial proposal for
Its open for feedback, please feel free to share other active members,
discuss in your respective language groups. This is just initial
proposal and i am sure, we can improve and make it more effective with

I would start with Simplify Chinese for the time being.

tomorrow we will enter June and we will be 2 weeks before F24 GA release
date. We have some important changes on the websites and need to enter a PO
freeze for the websites in production.
We have a new Spin on labs.fedoraproject.org (Astronomy) and some minor
changes through all other websites.
I'm still not sure if we are able to make a new website for secondary
arches in time for F24 GA, if not we will postpone this task until F25
Please take a look at the new source files and try to translate at least
the main websites. The string freeze will block all your strings on
production, but you can check your work in the staging instances, where you
can see also the context of all strings.
We are building actually stg.getfedora.org, labs.stg.fpo, spins.stg.fpo and
arm.stg.fpo in staging.
For any questions or issues please open an issue on
pagure.io/fedora-websites or in our trac .
Thank you and happy translating.
I like to propose experimental introduction of Zanata glossary onto
fedora.zanata.org using the data Red Hat internally created as a base.
Once introduced, it should appear bottom right hand side, next to
Translation Memory, pls see this screenshot.
Currently, this feature is still on development, and has a room to
improve especially permission area. Atm the data can only be edited by a
user with 'glossarist' permission. This glossarist can edit any data
across the languages. Any data will be editable as well new data can be
added. So we will be able to build up our own Fedora Localization Glossary.
Will you please let me know if you like to see this experimental
introduction or not, and whom to be granted as 'glossarist'?
Now those three users are taking 'glossarist' role, and change/edit/add
any entries of the glossary. Any change must be consulted with
appropriate team and gain their consensus. Currently there are 2238 entries.
* 'tiansworld' - Chinese (China)
* 'lonemadmax' - Spanish
* 'Jibec' - French
Anyone else has interest to be 'glossarist', let me know.
The wiki page is now created, so please encourage yourself to enter
any findings. Any suggestion for scheduling/planning is appreciated.
From the time we have started EMEA time meeting 21:00 UTC, i have seen
number of new members join and participate in meeting. Due to this i
strongly feel we should not miss this slot. Same time its very difficult
for me to host this meeting since its 2:30 IST.
Will be happy if someone from EMEA or APAC can takeover on this meeting.
I can definitely help with Agenda etc stuff. Even simply walking over with
open tickets in trac will do here.
Jean proposed idea earlier, i also think its good to have specific list
for tracking Translation bugs. I18N already have
List will help to get periodic update on bugs status and tracking bugs.
We had quick discussion in last meeting about same. Let me know others
opinion on this.
