Self-Introduction: Stephan, German
by Stephan Rolke
Dear all,
I'd like to introduce myself a bit ...
Name: Stephan
Location: Berlin, Germany
Login: stephr
Language: German
I have a background in translation, but I currently work as a data
analyst. In my free time, I do karate and go running (or just for a
walk instead). I have been using Fedora for roughly a year and I like
it very much. That's why I decided to start contributing to it now.

Looking for an instructor to take a Fedora classroom on l10n :)
by Ankur Sinha
Hello,
As part of the F29 Fedora classroom "semester"[1], we were wondering if
someone could instruct a session on l10n? It could be a basic 101
session that introduces the attendees to l10n, shows them the tools,
shoes them how to get started, and maybe a quick demo of the workflow
too?
It'll be a great way to give the very important l10n project more
visibility, and since most of these classroom sessions are attended by
end-users and prospective contributors, it also helps more people join
up and contribute.
The date/order of sessions has not been decided yet. The instructors are
free to choose a day/time that work for them.
If someone can please take this session, it'll be awesome! We (the
Classroom SIG) can help with all the logistics---setting up a
Jitsi/BlueJeans meeting, announcing the session on the Magazine and so
on. All we need is an instructor who will teach the session :)
This is the ticket on our tracker:

Self-Introduction: Carmen — Esperanto (also: How to add a new language in Zanata)
by Carmen Bianca Bakker
Hi all,
I'm Carmen from Friesland, The Netherlands. I am currently working on
GNOME to make the GNOME desktop available in Esperanto. At the current
rate, GNOME 3.22 will have its core release (standard apps, core
libraries) completely translated into Esperanto, which I am fairly proud
of :-)
Unfortunately, from the big distributions, only Debian (and its
derivatives) have Esperanto available as a choice out of the box. I
want to make sure that Fedora also gets that option.
Could someone give me a few steps in the right direction to get that
ball rolling? I imagine an Esperanto team must be created on Zanata
(which is why I have CC'd Michael Moroni, who is listed as coordinator
at <https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N_Teams>;). I also imagine some
packages need adjusting.
I have some experience with RPM packaging from openSUSE's Build Service,
so I can probably do that just fine on my own, but I would really
appreciate if someone provided me with an overview of the core language
packages (or how to find such an overview). I imagine it would be okay
to just send a patch to those packages to enable/add Esperanto? Or is
this all done automatically? That truly would be magical.
A little bit about myself finally: I'm a free software advocate, avid
D&D player, software engineering student, FSFE volunteer, and a couple
of other things. You can find me at the FSFE booth at SFScon in
Bozen/Bolzano, 16 November.
Thanks and with kindness,
Carmen
