I think that should not make problem with i18n,
as I translated with Kbabel and showing no problem for "\r"

meanwhile, which Tool are u using ?

I use Emacs, but I use to use "msgfmt" to check the po file, and "msgconv" to reformat long lines.
msgconv is the one that gave me that error message.
