Hi, Paolo Leoni made the countdown banner for this release, and we'd love to have it translated in a few languages (no rush or anything though, we'll be continuously pushing translations online until the release).
The source SVG is at http://fedoraproject.org/static/images/counter/en/deepsky-fedora11-countdown...
You may need to install the mgopen-fonts package to see the fonts properly. I'm not totally who to send these to generate the PNGs, but you can send the translated SVGs for now.
Please send two SVGs: One with the translation for the singular "arriving in 1 day" and one for the plural "arriving in XX days"
I'll try to get somebody from the art team to send some more specific instructions and to help out with the this is possible.

(note: maybe unaccessible at sometimes) This use inkscape to render, and workaround the www-data bug(my server is ubuntu, moving to fedora when 12 is out) by giving root access to inkscape (I know this is security flaw, but www-data just SEGFALT inkscape with no output) and does not uses any form of cache (my server load still does not hit to 3+)

It's very ugly at least for Persian and Balochi. I've made a test for its translation but outcome is too bad :D. Blurs makes it unclear.

Update - you can actually send the translated SVGs to Paolo at hydra84 at gmail dot com.

As brought up on this list many times before: there are many languages with plural rules more complicated than n != 1. Please use ngettext if at all possible [1].
If not, something more generic like "days remaining: XX" is better from the L10n perspective.

Sorry about that, we'll try to keep this in mind next time. Paolo, if you can give me a copy of the script, I can try to take a look at using ngettext next time. That way, we can just give translators a string to translate, generate the images, then the art team can make sure that the text is placed well.
