SSSD 1.1.0 now in string freeze

The System Security Services Daemon is now in string freeze in
preparation for our release on Wednesday, March 17. We would very much
appreciate the addition of new translations, as we will be releasing
this version into EPEL5 for long-term support.

My sincerest apologies. I realized today that there were files missing
from POTFILES.in. The result of this is that we were missing several
translatable strings from the list. I have pushed an update to the
repository.

This should now be the correct String Freeze state. Sorry again for the
confusion.

For the record, if the language you would like to translate is not
currently listed on our translation page, please request a new
translation team for your language. When I see those, I pre-generate the
.po files for that language, so they'll be editable in the UI.

Ok, much to my chagrin, I'm going to have to cancel String Freeze for
the SSSD at this time. We discovered today a blocker for the 1.1 release
that is, unfortunately, going to require a string change. (Specifically,
we realized that we absolutely need to have a new option in the
configuration API, and this means we'll need to include the help text
for it in the translatable string list)

Once this fix is in, I will reinstitute String Freeze, and slip our
release date by a few days to compensate.

Well, it took longer than planned, but we're now back in string freeze
for the 1.1.0 release. There are two additional strings added since we
were forced to break freeze, for a total of 189 strings throughout the
project.

We are slipping our release date of SSSD 1.1.0 to Monday, March 22 (or
possibly even a little further, depending on the results of our time in
testing), but I do not anticipate any further changes to the strings
before the release.

So I thank you all for your patience, and I look forward to seeing your
submissions at http://www.transifex.net/projects/p/sssd/ :)


NB: I've received a few questions as to why updates don't appear
immediately after submission. The reason for this is that our upstream
policy forbids any check-in to the repository without it being reviewed
by a project "gatekeeper" (in the case of translations, this is myself).
It may take a few days before the translations are pushed to the
upstream master, so don't worry if you don't see it reflected in the UI
right away.

I already translated the Portuguese PO twice, but it never shows as
complete. I have tried the in-house edit capabilities. Am I doing
something wrong? Is it better to submit a PO file?

Rui, our configuration is a bit different from most projects. Due to our
upstream requirements, no patch is ever submitted upstream without a
review by one of the project gatekeepers (that would be myself, Sumit
Bose, Simo Sorce or Jakub Hrozek)

So what happens when you submit your translation is that I receive it in
an email. I then perform a cursory inspection to make sure that it's not
obviously wrong (e.g. spam or other useless data) and then apply it to
the upstream repository. Transifex will then update within a few hours
to see the new submission.

So it may take as much as two days after submission before the update
actually shows up in Transifex.
