This still exists in Fedora 10.

Thanks for the heads up, that seems to be the case. Now running up-to-date F10
(kernel-PAE-2.6.27.5-117.fc10.i686) on the same hardware and so far I have ~46
hours uptime (cpuspeed enabled) with the last ~10 hours continuously running
svnadmin load / sleep in a loop and no problems.

The problem persists in kernel-2.6.27.5-117.fc10.ppc. The time reported by
/bin/date lost 5 seconds over an interval of 30 minutes (1:360) as measured by
an external quartz clock. No ntp (network time protocol) daemon was running;
the system sat in Gnome terminal under X11 with no user-initiated tasks.
