mysqladmin is found in the mysql-server package: /usr/bin/mysqladmin Hope this helps, e. I have the mysql package installed, but no mysqladmin...I did an updatedb and then "locate mysql" and it was nowhere...?? Bad install maybe? --evan hazlett

Mine will only work in compatible mode and yes it is the 875 chip set. I have not tried Fedora on it yet though. Only Redhat and Suse. I have a similar box sitting on my desk here that I do installs on daily. It's set so that the SATA is in enhanced mode and the installer then properly loads the libata and ata_piix modules to drive it. ACPI, APM and power failures

Hi I've just installed Fedora Core 1 test 3. The biggest problem I have with it is that my Fujitsu/Siemens Amilo D laptop tends to shutdown on its own from time to time (2/3 times a day) while I'm actively using it (typing texts, playing videos) or when it is not used (screensaver on). At first, I thought it was hardware-related. But, having Windows XP on another partition, I could see that the problem didn't happen on Windows XP. So the problem seems to come from Fedora. Then, I tried to de-activate both acpid and apmd. And the problem seems to have gone away and I'm happy :) Now, my questions are: - Why are both acpid and apmd activated by default ? Aren't they mutually exclusive ? - What could possibly be the cause of the problem ? - How could I help find the exact cause of the problem ? That's right i wasn't joking. It's Wednesday again, which means another Fedora Bug Day. Today is the second unofficial attempt at a fedora bug day. Today's bug hunting theme are Fedora Core release 'mustfix' bugs. tty spawning even though rc.local is not finished.

Greetings. I have added on both RHL 7.1 and RHL 9 some code to rc.local that takes a long time to execute (I upgrade the RPMs at boot time and the first time the system is installed, there are a lot of RPMs to upgrade). I found out that even though rc.local is not finished executing, suddenly the tty and XFree are started. It seams that inittab or rc has a timeout somewhere, but I could not find any reference about such a timeout anywhere. Can someone provide me clues on how to disable/increase the timeout? I am testing Fedora as a webserver, and would like the php/mysql capabilities. MySQL seems to be installed, but no mysqladmin command. any help would be appreciated... --evan hazlett
