I am being forced to use win2k at the office for a project but need some
of my bookmarks moved over.
Thanks!

I'm having trouble booting from the CD
by Tyler
Hello everyone. I have a problem I was hoping someone could help me
with. When I try to boot my Fedora CD I get this message
ISOLINUX 2.06 2003-08-22 isolinux: disk error 01, AX = 4293, 9F
I have no idea what it means or what to do. Any help that someone could
give me would be appreciated.

Fedora Core 4 On mini mac
by Hill, Richard D
(sorry if this is the wrong place to post this)
For days I have been trying to install Fedora core 4 (ppc) on my Mini Mac I have repartitioned destroyed partitions etc and every time it errors with ignore or cancel messages about partition blocks I can press ignore and go on but it generally bombs out when it comes to the actual formatting of the new partitions I've defined and the copy of files part , on one occasion it seemed to actually install but on reboot it failed to load kernel image
There is nothing wrong with the hdd I have no issues at all installing tiger back on the Mini Mac , but do what I will it actively refuses to have anything to do with Fedora.
Has anyone else experienced this problem ?
Richard

Never mind....
EDIT -> PREFERENCES -> BEHAVIOR -> Always open in browser window was
unchecked. I checked it and the sidebar is back.

Having to log in is the default; before upgrading you must have
configured autologin yourself.
See the AutomaticLoginEnable and AutomaticLogin keywords (documented at
http://yippi.hypermall.com/gdm/gdm-documentation/x241.html) in
/etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf to set it up again.
Paul.

Check out nagios and/or cacti. Cacti and Nagios uses snmp, I believe
and nagios is quite extensive and flexible IMO. Not sure if it is
overkill for your needs or hard to setup but I used it for my 13+
home systems. Quite nice and it lets me know immediately if a
system is down or if resources are being depleted. You can use
pagers and email notification and perhaps send a message to your
cell phone.

OpenSSH 4.2p1 over IPv6 results in TCP checksum error
by Jay Cliburn
Has anyone successfully used the standard FC4 x86_64 RPM version of ssh (
v4.2p1) to connect over IPv6? My attempts result in a TCP checksum error
when the client sends the ssh protocol assertion. I have a screenshot of an
Ethereal capture of the session that's about 270KB, but I'm not sure what
the rules are for posting images/attachments, so I'll hold off on that for
now. Here's a synopsis.
Frames 1-3: IPv6 address discovery.
Frames 4-6: TCP 3-way handshake.
Frame 7: SSH server asserts ssh protocol 2 to client.
Frame 8: Client ACKs Frame 7.
Frame 9: Client asserts ssh protocol 2 to server. Checksum error!
Frame 10: Client retransmits. Checksum error again!
and so on until
Frame 17: Server gives up and issues FIN/ACK to client.
Another oddity: If I modify the server sshd_config by setting AddressFamily
to inet6, it still accepts IPv4 connections (and the IPv6 connection attempt
still fails) after restarting sshd.
I'm new to IPv6, so I could certainly have a configuration issue getting in
the way here, but ping6 works between the hosts, and the Ethereal capture
doesn't show anything out of the ordinary with respect to the source and
destination addresses. Before I go and custom build ssh, I'd like
verification that the Fedora-supplied ssh rpm actually does or doesn't work
straight out of the box under IPv6.
Thanks,
Jay
