Anyone using epylog and know what I can modify to stop the following
from being in my daily logs?

May 31 02:45:43 scrappy kernel: CPU0: Temperature above threshold
May 31 02:45:43 scrappy kernel: CPU0: Running in modulated clock mode
May 31 02:45:48 scrappy kernel: CPU0: Temperature above threshold
May 31 02:45:48 scrappy kernel: CPU0: Running in modulated clock mode
May 31 02:45:53 scrappy kernel: CPU0: Temperature/speed normal
I have tried couple different files in /etc/epylog but so far to no avail.
Thanks,

IPV6, Fedora and apps
by Douglas Phillipson
Do network applications written for Fedora, or any Linux distro for that
matter, require any modification to work with IPv6? or is that a
"TRANSPARENT" change in the protocol stack under the application layer?
Is there a different API for IPv6 for network apps, socket servers, etc?
Thanks

slsnif (or alternative) for FC?
by Robert P. J. Day
is there a working slsnif rpm for FC5? i downloaded and tried to
build slsnif from source, but it appears that the source is trying to
open an old-style /dev/pts device file and failing.
or is there an alternative SL sniffer that someone would recommend?
thanks.

Viewing and printing a big PDF
by Robert G. (Doc) Savage
If this isn't really an FC5 problem and should be addressed elsewhere,
please point the way.
I'm trying to double-side print a 339-page PDF on a new HP LaserJet
2430dtn. The document's properties include:
Creator: Acrobat PDFMaker 7.0 for Word
Producer: Acrobat Distiller 7.0 (Windows)
Security: No
Format: PDF-1.4
Optimized: Yes
FC5's stock PDF viewers have a variety of troubles with this document:
Document Viewer (Evince) Long load time
KGhostView Extreme load time ending in failure
KPDF Quick load, but can't read CUPS'
printer duplexer setting (a CUPS or
KPDF problem?)
Xpdf No access to printer options at all
I downloaded and installed the Adobe Reader v7.0.5 RPM from their web
site. It overcomes all of the stock PDF viewers' problems, but the
printout is bizarre. The image of each succeeding printed page is
smaller than its predecessor. Like a series of perspective drawings, by
the 15th double-sided page the page images have shrink to a microscopic
dot. A few more blank pages and the job ends -- long before page 339.
CUPS is configured to use FC5's LaserJet 2430 Postscript driver on a
JetDirect port. Its print queue Driver options are nothing special:
Send Form-Feed (FF) [ ]
Send End-of-Transmission (EOT) [ ]
Assume Unknown Data is Text [ ]
Prerender Postscript [ ]
Convert Text to Postscript [X]
Effective Filter Locale [C ]
Double-Sided Printing [Long Edge (Standard) ]
GhostScript pre-filtering [No pre-filtering ]
Resolution [Printer Default ]
Media Source [US Letter ]
The queue options are also routine:
Banner pages
At start of job [None ]
At end of job [None ]
Imageable Area
Top margin (pt) [18 ] Right margin (pt) [18 ]
Left margin (pt) [18 ] Bottom margin (pt) [18 ]
Filter options
cpi 12
lpi 7
page-bottom 86
page-left 57
page-right 57
page-top 72
scaling 100
scp-fc5 true
wrap true
Has anyone else seen similar shrinking printout behavior. Is this an
Adobe problem or a CUPS problem? I'm guessing CUPS.

OT question about time tracking consultant software
by Lonnie Cumberland
Greetings all,
I greatly apologize for asking this question on the forum but I was not
sure where to find out good information on this topic.
We are setting up a Fedora server and on that server, I need to locate
some good web based software that will allow some tech support
consultants to login, enter information on a customers support issues,
and something that will track the amount of time that the tech spends
resolving a customers issue.
I am thinking that this is some type of IT consultant time tracking
software that we can add many consultants and they can help to resolve
customer IT issues and then we could know what the consult did and how
long it took them to resolve the issue that might be in terms of hours,
or possibly days depending on what was needed.
Could someone please point me in a good direction to find some software
that we can install on our web server for this?
Thanks and again I am sorry for the off-topic posting.

Mount a DFS share fc4
by Dario Lesca
hi, it is possible to mount a Microsoft DFS share folder whit
Linux/Samba?
If I try to mount it with this command:
> [root@lesca ~]# smbclient -V
> Version 3.0.22
> [root@lesca ~]# mount -t cifs \
> -ousername=io,password=miapwd,ro //dc01/dfs /mnt/floppy
the DFS share resource is correctly mounted, if I execute a 'ls' the
first level of folder is correctly show.
But if I try to use the contents of the folders I not find what I'm
looking for, I find always the same folders and files that there is in
to root folder.
If this mount is possible, someone can give me some suggest?
Many thanks to all, and sorry for my bad english!
