CLVM for fc6?
by Pasi Kärkkäinen
Hi!
Where can I find CLVM stuff for fc6?
I just checked out the latest lvm2 src rpm from development repository, and
it doesn't seem to have clvm build enabled.. Is there going to be separate
lvm2-cluster package or something?
Thanks!

Networking Problems
by jery_wang
Hi all,
Fairly new to linux and having some problems troubleshooting my internet connection.
For some reason I can't get to the outside world and it's driving me nuts. I can't ping anything outside my localhost. I'm running a static IP address:
IP: xx.xx.128.149
Sub: 255.255.252.0
Gateway: xx.xx.128.1
Confirmed with my ISP that those are correct. I've assigned DNS settings properly and confirmed on another machine that the Gateway, DNS servers are working.
Here is what I've done:
1. Reinstalled Fedora Core 5
2. Turned off the firewall and SELINUX
3. Tried a different network card with same result.
Am I missing something here? Is this some weird DNS issue?
Any help would be great
thanks

Intel 3945ABG Wireless
by Craig Preston
I have a laptop with an Intel 3945abg Wireless adaptor, and I'm having a
bugger of a time getting it working. Has anyone else got these going? I have
downloaded the linux drivers from the intel site and the ieee drivers. I am
having trouble getting the intel files to make. They fail with error 2. How
descriptive :)
Any help appreciated

Re: kill -9 doesnot work
by Tom Horsley
> kill -9 doesnot work
Lots of things can get processes into an unkillable state. The most common one
is if the process is in the middle of core dumping - linux won't let you kill it
till it has finished writing the core file (which might take decades if it happens
to be writing the core file over a slow network link).
If the process is being debugged it can also get into a state where it won't
go away with a kill -9, though usually a kill -CONT will get it running enough
to notice the kill -9.
Then there are just plain old bugs, like the process being in a system call with
some mutex locked forever.

Which FC for a Dell poweredge server?
by Graham Cossey
I'm in the process of ordering a new server box - a Dell Poweredge -
and wondered if anyone could offer quick advice on which FC version I
should download and install?
I'm asking in relation to compatabilty with the likely hardware etc,
for example:
Intel E7230 chipset
SATA HDD
Intel D820 2.8GHz
512MB DDR2 SDRAM
I'm thinking about FC4 but as this is a development/test server the
primary objective is that anything running on this MUST also run on
the live server installed with RH3 ES-13.8.3
I will of course ensure that the versions of PHP and MySQL etc match
the live server.
Any help or advice much appreciated.

setting up an update server for FC ??
by Gregory Machin
Hi
We have 4 FC 5 servers 2 FC 5 laptops, and 1 FC 4.
The problem we are having is that updates are downloaded repeatedly, how can
I create a central cache for our lan / wan without having to create a full
mirror of the updates as we don't have the bandwidth..

Syslog setup server on FC5?[Scanned]
by Chris Bradford
Hi guys,
I am trying to figure our how to setup syslog-ng on FC5 and not having
much luck. I have installed syslog-ng using yum.
I am trying to log from two HP 5308xl switches. The logging facility on
these switches is 'user' but this can be changed.
I have opened up UDP port 514 on my firewall and enables the syslog-ng
service, but I think I am missing something in the configuration.
Any ideas where I'm going wrong?
Many thanks,
-Chris

I presume that the problem is that "e100_probe: Cannot obtain PCI

to do about it...
The machine works fine under Windows XP, and FC4 worked fine before the
upgrade.
Can anyone help?
