I'm considering buying a new laptop, which should be setup as a dual-boot
Does anyone has experiences with any of the following models running Fedora?

I've registered for the selinux forum and will repost my question there.
In the mean time, I spent a bit of time last night playing with the
mount options in fstab. I added the
context=system_u:object_r:samba_share_t option but ended up with some
Per the guidance from the selinux error message, I unmounted the ntfs
partion, issued the chcon command and the selinux type of
/mnt/winxp_data was changed to samba_share_t. When the ntfs partion is
mounted, the type changes to fusefs_t, which then causes selinux to
complain. I unmount the partition, and the mount point returns to
samba_share_t. I issued the chcon command with the ntfs partition
mounted, but because the files on ntfs don't have extended attributes,
I don't want to remove or back away from selinux in enforcing mode. I
have customers who want to build applications on top of selinux, so the
task at hand is to get smart and make things work with selinux.

I have a Samsung ML-1510 Laser printer, connected to the CP via a USB
It worked perfectly well under RH8.
Under FC4, it worked ok once I managed to get it installed, but kept
disappearing, until someone from this list advised me how to tweak the OS to
make it work.
Under FC7, it worked for a couple of weeks, but now (after a YUM update) the
printer seems to be 'not connected - trying again in 30s'
I am tempted to downgrade to FC6, or *gasp!* even buy a cheap Windows XP
machine. I don't have time to be my own technical support department.
Yours, Mike H...
I recently upgraded from FC6 to FC7 and ran into a problem which I can't
find the answer to on-line.
After the upgrade root and the users can get to applications that are
not of an system administrative nature (e.g., OpenOffice, The Gimp,
etc.) but they cannot get to System Tools (e.g., Yum Extender, QTParted,
Users and Groups, etc.)
This is a dual-boot system, and I can boot to either FC7 or MS Windows.
However, when I did the upgrade I think I did a "Create new boot loader"
rather than "Update boot loader configuration." Could this have caused
the problem? If not, any idea what the problem may be?

Sometime in the past someone lead me to a driver for printing from Linux
to a HP LaserJet 1020. I lost the reference. Can anyone supply it?
One Bell System - it sometimes works.

Well that is interesting. One response agreed with me that it does not
work and you say it does. Which leaves me in a quandary. Could you send
a list of all the openoffice related rpms you have installed?
I have OO 2.3 on fc7; the landscape printing option does not appear to
I put rootkit in Google and learned they are mainly aimed at
Windows. I know Windows from about XP have a kernel but it really does
little. The rootkit designs I saw were aimed at the kernel for some
reason. No where could I find mention of a Linux rootkit.

Maybe this is a long shot, but why don't you try to put the file in a
matroska container enabling the splitting at a given file size, say 2GB?

It's not a K3b problem. It is mkisofs's.

I'm looking for a line command utility (MTA) which send an email direct
to a SMTP external server.
if I use: "echo bye|mutt -s bye user(a)dom.it"
the message is send to local sendmail, then sendmail send it to mx
record dom.it, but dom.it refuse me for security and anti-spam reason.
I'm looking for a command which send my message direct to my provider,
like evolution or Thunderbird do.
Is this possible do that with fetchmail?

Or I must use another command?
how to? (I'm not a email guru)
