FC6 Cups with Samsung - 1610 laser printer
by Antonio M
I am using a Samsung ML-1610 laser printer.
I am experiencing many problems in printing images either with Eog,
Gimp or documents including same images as a openoffice writer
document or a PDF document.
I can't print my photo (that it is not a real problem as I use an
external lab)!!!
When I installed the printer (that was working a little bit better
with previous versions of Cups) I was compelled to use the GDI driver,
as if I try to use Postscript driver I get an internal cups server
error..
When I try to print an image i see red light flashing but no printing!!!
Any help

FC6 sound gone
by Christian Menzel
Hi,
The sound in my FC6 installation was workings since I installed it in Oct 2006.
Now it suddenly stopped working and I'm not aware of changing anything.
I get no error messages from the audio applications like xmms or
mplayer when I try to play audio. They show the normal behaviour, I
just don't hear anything.
The soundcard is OK, when I boot Knoppix from DVD, sound is working
The mixer is not muted, system-config-soundcard won't help, the
modules are loaded.
Is there any configuration I can reset? Or should I just wait for FC7
and reinstall the whole stuff? I'm desperate...

time to 64bit?
by Ian Malone
Another post has just got me wondering, whether
the update to F7 is time for me to go to 64bit.
(The machine is an Athlon X2). I'm quite attached
to using mplayer and find Flash increasingly
useful, so what is people's experience of 64bit
at the moment?

Thunder chicken
by Ric Moore
Hrm.... Thunderbird is already starting to peeve me. It wants to reply
with the html stuff even after I told it to send text only to this
list-domain. Next, it's not filtering fedora-list(a)redhat.com into it's
folder.
This marriage is off to a rocky start and the Honeymoon hasn't even had
time to kick in. <g> Ric

I installed the FC6. Nealy everything was correct but the sound.
The thing is i hear nothing, execpt when i put the heaphone, and when i put
the hearphone, i just hear the right side of the heaphone.
I tried to use the system-config-soundcard but same beahaviour.
The card is detected as Ati Technologies SB 450 HDA AUDIO.

/dev/mapper and Anaconda install failures (FC6 x86_64)
by Sean Bruno
I've been wrestling with anaconda this evening on my x86_64 machine. It
seems that anaconda (or some other piece of the installer) is
forcing /dev/mapper to be created even when I have no RAID devices
enabled.
I have cleared the 'fake' raid stuff off of my disks from rescue
mode(dmraid -E), but with 2 disks installed the installer insists on
trying to configure /dev/mapper/mpath0.
I see each disk individually if I only have one SATA drive connected at
a time. Which seems odd as heck to me, but I can install FC6 and at
least send you folks this email this way.
Is there a 'nodmraid' option to the installer that I can pass to allow
me to see /dev/sda & /dev/sdb instead of the dmraid stuff? What's even
stranger is that there appears to be a way to disable dmraid from the
GUI screen when you choose to 'remove all partitions', but the option is
greyed out?!?
Any guidance would be appreciated.
