We must be having a communication problem. It is true that when a
message id deleted or moved from a folder it is not actually removed
from the folder it just disappears from the folder's view and shows up
in the folder it is going to. In fact if you disable the option hide
deleted messages you can see it in both folders (trash in the case of
deletion). To me this is a good thing since I do not have the deleted
messages hidden and can easily look at a deleted message if I decide
later i may have missed something it said. The messages are kept in that
form until evolution is terminated. The same way with read and unread
messages. When evolution is exited and then restarted messages are
expunged.
So that seems OK with me so I don't see what the complaint is . Maybe
you can clarify your objection to how it works. Is seems possible you
are taking about IMAP processing with the exchange server where the
messages remain on the server. If so I can see that the evolution
approach might be a problem. Is that it?

First F7 install
by John Bowden
Hi Folks
Finely got round installing F7 on my box. Every thing went relatively smooth,
except for no sound from the sound card. only system beeps. The Mother board
is an Asrock K8NF6G VSTA /M /ASR. It has got the Nvidia NF6100-405 Chipset.
The Hardware browser tells me its running the nvidia MCP61 driver. How do I
get my sound card working?

selinux eradicator?
by Tom Horsley
I'm never gonna use selinx, yet every new batch of updates
seems to have yet another new version of a slew of
selinux packages to download and install, with half of
them wasting time doing find commands to do god knows
what to every file on my system :-).
Out of idle curiosity, I asked yum what would happen
if I tried to remove every rpm that has selinux in
its description.
The result was that just about (maybe not even about)
every single rpm on my system would be removed for
dependencies.
Is there any set of selinux stuff I can actually remove?
Anyone working on a alternate repo of bizzaro-selinux
packages that will satisfy the dependencies while only
downloading a few hundred bytes and executing no complicated
side effects when installed?
Or maybe a selinux free fedora spin?
Maybe on the more realistic side: How about a
/etc/sysconfig/selinux variable I could set that
would inform the rpms I'm never ever gonna enable
selinux, and they can just skip all the time wasting
nonsense they normally do when installed?

Thanks.
You mean that the open source driver for Intel card has a much better
support than the open source driver for ATI and nVidia.
I think I will investigate again and look for the one you mentioned.

f7 dead and recovery disk hangs.
by Robert Cahn
I have a F7 system. It uses the x86_64 distribution. We had a lightning
storm and I was away. When I got back the system had hung and wouldn't
reboot. When I tried to put in the recovery CD and restore the system it
loads in a number of SCSI drivers. When it gets to, "Loading sata_sis
driver" progress halts. After a while garbage fills the middle third of the
screen and the disk spins on and on. I've tried to reinstall F7 but the
same thing happens. It appears the sata_sis driver is corrupted and the
system cannot update without it. Does anyone know a word around?

FC6 ipw3945 on Dell D820 not working. What's the best way?
by David Kramer
SO I bought this brand new Dell Latitude D820. I've been trying to get
a fully working Linux install on it for weeks. I tried F7, but the new
suspend mechanism doesn't work on this laptop, and there's no way around
it, so I installed FC6. But with FC6, I can't get the ipw3945 wireless
working. I can't catch a break!
There seems to be several ways: the iwl* packages, the ipw* packages,
with or without Network Manager...
So scanning the internets and this list, this is what I have now:
[root@lexa ~]# uname -a
Linux lexa.thekramers.net 2.6.20-1.2962.fc6 #1 SMP

"iwconfig eth1" and "iwlist eth1 scanning" both produce good-looking
results, but the WiFi light is flashing very quickly, and "ifconfig eth1
up" doesn't get an IP address, nor does "dhclient eth1", which just
keeps trying.
So what am I doing wrong?
What does the fast blinking WiFi lite mean?
What's the difference between the iwp* packages and the iwl* packages?
Thanks. I hope I included enough information. I'm pretty desperate at
this point. This is an expensive laptop!
