firefox bookmarks and highlighting messed up
by Mick M.
Hi;
as a normal user FireFox is being weird.
My bookmarks are setup so that my folders are at the top.
I import my bookmarks as a file.
Works great.
I exit and restart FF, my bookmark folders are gone.
They are actually very very skinny and not labeled.
If I put a "New Seperator" above the "personal toolbar folder", they
come back.
Then the cycle repeats.
Also when I visit a page the links are not colored after I visit them.
I have checked preferences->-content-colors and nothing makes a
difference.

FireFox: How to set font-size for F/F menu?
by Dan Thurman
I have looked into Edit/Preference and for the life
of me, I am unable to determine why my menu-fonts are
so tiny, like a size 6 or something. I cannot even
read it.
Seems that my Firefox is not taking the system font
size although the system-colors are fine.
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to correct this?
Thanks!

Keeping time synchronized
by Konstantin Svist
Hi all,
Is there a good ["Fedora"] way to keep time synchronized on a laptop?
I've checked around and ntpd seems to be a bad idea because it counts
CPU cycles - but modern CPUs switch frequencies all the time to save
power. Some tutorials say this causes NTP to not work properly.

shared printers in F8 - problem?
by mike cloaked
Does anyone know if there is currently a problem with CUPS printer sharing?
A month or so back everything was working fine with shared usb printers
on my lan. Today one of the users on a machine on the lan could not see the
printer shared from another machine in the network and I have not made any
changes apart from F8 updates in the last month.
Any help/workarounds appreciated.

[OT] HELP!!! mail attack
by Rodolfo Alcazar Portillo
Hello. Since monday, our mailserver (FC5), behind a firewall, is
suffering a heavy DoS mail attack. We have a user account,
amanda.davila(a)padep.org.bo and it is receiving millions of emails from
very different sites of the planet. Since now, my only action was
deleting the account from /etc/password, and the traffic permits
working. We suspect a virus attack...
What else can we do? We would appreciate any help with this issue. Here,
a 20 seconds log by 07:15 GMT-4 (too early, many pcs off).

How to get Wireless work with Radius server and WPA-TKIP
by Arch Willingham
This is one issue with Linux I have never had any luck in tackling on my own. We use a Microsoft IAS radius server to authenticate our wireless clients before they can connect via WPA-TKIP (EAP type is protected EAP (PEAP) and then EAP-MSCHAP). To complicate it further, before the windows clients connect, they have to import a certificate that we supply.
All of my Linux clients are using FC8 with Ndiswrapper.
Can anyone shed any light on where to start?
Thanks!

New to x86_64; why so many i386 packages?
by Steve Snyder
I just installed the x86_64 build of Fedora 8. This is my first ever
experience with x86_64 Linux as I haven't had the hardware before now.
I'm amazed at the number of duplicate packages installed. My total of
2096 packages installed includes 417 i386 and 2 i686 packages, all of
which duplicate an existing x86_64 packages.
I understand that some applications don't play nicely when built for
64-bit pointers, but is it really necessary to have all these
compatibility libraries just for those few apps?
