ARM microcontroller code development with eclipse?

Anybody using eclipse for code development using the bin tool chain for the ARM 7 and the C/C++ plug-in? Also anybody have experience, or opinions, using FreeROTOS too? I have the pdf versions of the books they sell. I'm looking for comments or suggestions on how to effectively setup the environment under Linux on a F11 or F12 box. This would be for hobby use to emulate what you get using the Keil uVision 3/4 IDE, admittedly without the big buck package $$. Regards; Leland C. Scott KC8LDO "There is only one boss. The customer. f12 ati R480 agp dri not working

I guess my DRI is broken in some way. The display is washed out and I get only 1.5 fps with glxgears. Any ideas on what the problem could be or other commands I could run to narrow it down? I know things are changing rapidly for the older ATI chipsets so is it just a matter of "we know and are working the issues"? Update broke my Quake 4 game ...

I've been running Quake 4 from my Fedora 11 box for a while. And today, a system update broke the game. (It runs, but some models fail to load, and after a while it crashes). I think it was a pam update, or something. How I can list the most recent updates on my machine? I'm not ready to lose it all just yet...

Install Fedora onto (not from) an SD card

Does anyone have a way to install onto an SD card? I have been able to install on a USB stick but the installer doesn't see an SD card as a device to install onto. I don't want this to be setup as one of those "live" distributions where you have your static part and then an overlay where you save any changes. I want the SD card to act as a hard drive (although a pretty slow one) where it'll have a /, /boot, and swap partitions.

Compiz -- Discussion

Hi; I just want to get some user thoughts and points on using Compiz. I tried it a couple of Fedora versions ago. It was kind of cute using the spinning cube for workspaces and wobbly windows for a short while but I soon returned to using Metacity. Now that Compiz is more mature and more people are using it, is there any advantages to trying it again. fedora 12 default turns bluetooth device on

Thanks for the info. But the bluetooth device is activated by udev as the bluetooth icon is on when the console outputs starting udev during boot, so this should have nothing to do with gnome or services. I remember fedora 11 at first did the same thing, later changed to default bluetooth device off. Don't know why fedora 12 changed this behaviour again.

Problems rebuilding ffmpeg to include libfaac

Got an iphone for Christmas. I want to be able to stream videos to it from my MythTV setup. Looking through the MythTV wiki, step one is to get ffmpeg to transcode videos to a format that the iphone can use. I tried the ffmpeg that came from rpmfusion for my Fedora 11 installation. It lacks libfaac support. To try to fix this and preserve all the yum dependencies, I decided I should download and build the source rpm. (Is this the best approach?) I downloaded and installed ffmpeg-0.5-3.fc11.src.rpm, which matched the version from 'rpm -qa | grep ffmpeg' on my system. Looking in the ffmpeg.spec file, I found these lines: %{?_with_faac:BuildRequires: faac-devel} %{?_with_faac:--enable-libfaac --enable-nonfree} \\\ <whine>I also found this comment in the changelog: - Don't build faac by default because it's nonfree. (kwizart) I thought the purpose of rpmfusion was to provide the software that Red Hat and Fedora did not want to ship but people wanted on their computers. So why not include the software for something as popular as ipods and iphones?</whine> I uncommented those two lines and ran 'rpmbuild -ba ffmpeg.spec'. The first time, it failed with a list of devel packages I needed. I installed those with yum. evolution 2.28.2 still can't connect to exchange server 2007

One of main reasons for upgrade F11 to F12 was to hope to connect evolution 2.28 to Exchange 2007. After a smooth upgrade to F12. I tried to connect evolution 2.28 with evo-mapi to M$ exchange server. no luck at all, it crashed every time. Someone suggested that evo 2.28.1 and evo-mapi-0.28.1 may work well. Now, I have evo upgraded to 2.28.2, I still can't connect evo to exchange server 2007. EVO crashed when I tried to create a evo-mapi account (at the step of authentication). f12 gnome usb stick automount fails

Hi, I have an usb stick of size 8GB. It was given a label with dosfslabel. After a while fc12 under gnome failed to automount under the usual /media/<labelname>. This happens only to one usb stick. I checked it using fsck.vfat while repairing possible filesystem errors. What's wrong? BTW: Next information possibly has nothing to do with my problem. I have this device is on sdc (sdc1 vfat, sdX X>=c) and i have a vodafone composite 3G modem + microSD reader connected. The microSD reader occupies the sdb although there is no card in it.
