One more bites the DUST

Today a friend gave me his computer and told me to wipe out Vista and install Fedora 11. I ask him if he didn't want to dual boot, he said no, that he didn't like Vista. Slowly but surely we will get them all.

Where is Firefox 3.5 final?

As of this writing, I just did and update and it was nowhere to be found. We're still at 3.5 Beta4 which was released over two months ago. Since 3.5 beta 4 there has been... 3.5b99 ( (07 June) 3.5 RC1 (16 June) 3.5 RC2 (17 June) 3.5 RC3 (24 Jun) There were a number of bugs along this route which is why it took so long for 3.5 final (and the RC2 update was *security*-related) and Fedora 11 is still sitting 4 versions back. 3.5 Final was today (30 June although it's the same as RC3). What's the deal here? When might we see 3.5 final? Thanks Anxiously yours, Scott

Packagekit being too helpful

When reading email, I occasionally get a pop-up window to the effect that "An additional font is required: Chinese Would you like to search for one now?" or "An additional font is required: Korean Would you like to search for one now?" I even got one of those pop-ups when viewing a file with less in the Gnome terminal the other day. The Help button on that window takes me to the help file for Packagekit, so I guess that's what's doing it. How can I tell Packagekit to quit doing that? Enter root password when prompted 3. Go to 'Hardware' tab. 4. In monitor type section - click configure 5. Now select LCD/CRT and then appropriate resolution. If you dont have 'system-config-display' (as it was in my case), install it with yum install system-config-display

Using Unallocated space for /home

FC11, Using Gparted I have 5gb unallocated space that I want to give to /home , how would I do it , (Detail Please) Below is how my partitions are laid out below; sda1 /boot sda2 /home sda3 / unallocated 5gb sda4 extended sda5 swap

Playing ASX videos in VLC

FC 11. Can VLC play ASX video in firefox, I have VLC and VLC-Plugin installed but can't play a ASX video in Firefox. What would I have to do to play ASX videos
