Re: radeon driver heading in wrong direction :-(.
by Arne Chr. Jorgensen
hi,
Been reading your dialogue regarding the subject. Having a laptop, HP 6715b,
which became a *nightmare* under F10-x86_64. I have managed a lot of crappy stuff, but that was hell until the very end.
A quick test of F11-686, F13-rawhide, and did install F12-x86_64, with some hesitation.
I am surprised: - no flicker on screen, no lock up ( so far ), and it is running 10-25 degrees C cooler ! Fans have never been as silent !
My question: what on earth was so terrible wrong with the driver under F10 ?
What was the nature of that error ?
( It did not run this nice under F11 or F13, while then I used 686. )
I am puzzled....

32bit support on 64bit Linux
by Reg Clemens
OK, my bad.
I asked this question before, and someone gave me the answer,
but I forgot to write it down someplace that I could find.
There is a single yum target, that will bring in all (or most) of the 32bit
libraries
and things that are needed to run 32bit applications on 64bit Fedora.
If memory serves, it was a 3character target, but that doesnt help when
I look at my rpm -qa.
Please, what do I have to do to load the 32bit stuff I need in 64bit Linux?
(Im installing a 2nd machine and my memory is blank...)

help with... F9
by Jake Peavy
Hi yall,
All I'm trying to do is get tc running on my Fedora 9 box and it's
segfaulting. In order to fix that I think I need a kernel update, but I'm
stuck.
...I know I should upgrade to F12 (or whatever) but I don't have time...
Can someone point me in the right direction for updating my kernel? My
searches show that at least 2.6.27 was released for F9, but my yum isn't
finding it - it just shows 2.6.25 which I'm already on. I tried enabling
fedora-rawhide but it repeatedly failed the checksum (no matter which mirror
it got it from)
Some output below, any help would be appreciated.
Tks,

I don't know the purpose of ccpp-1264933133-1979 but it is not produced
on my laptop when loading this same web-page. There is no:
/var/cache/abrt/ccpp-1264933133-1979.lock file that stays around and I
would like to have help finding what process 2004 is it that is locking
that file at some point in the process. Does anyone understand what is
causing these error messages.
If I stop abrtd I can load the web-page. I found konqueror can load this
webpaage but has problems with loading links that appear on it.
I would appreciate any help you'all could give me because I am
frustrated and mystified by all of this.
