gmail Video chat for fedora?

Hi, Google recently announced the availability of GMail Video Chat for linux!, Unfortunately the sad part is that the released only for Ubuntu and Debian based systems! info on hibernate in F13

Hello, having F13 on my Dell XPS M1330 I'm verifying functionality of hibernation. Configuration: Actions on battery power a) put computer to sleep when inactive for: Never b) When laptop lid is closed: Suspend c) When battery power is critically low: Hibernate Display on battery power: a) Put display to sleep when inactive for: 10 minutes In gconf-editor I see: 1) use_time_for_policy is checked This means that time based notifications and actions should be used In /apps/gnome-power-manager/thresholds/time_action I have: 2) time_action = 120 3) time_critical = 300 I don't understand quite well the relation between 2) and 3)... Is it correct to suppose that based on c), 2) and 3) I will have battery considered critical when 5 minutes of battery are remaining, but the hibernate action will be carried out when 2 minutes are remaining? If so, if I want to set time_action = 300, can I only do it from gconf-editor or are there any other tools? I leave my laptop powered on without battery and come back when battery life is already finished and I see pc powered off. When booting again (with AC), I see these messages when pc is trying to Hibernate: Sep 6 10:23:51 ope46 kernel: PM: thaw of devices complete after 342.777 msecs Sep 6 10:23:51 ope46 kernel: PM: Not enough free swap Sep 6 10:23:51 ope46 kernel: Restarting tasks ... done. wireless networking problem (fixed)

Kickstart installations and printer pre-configuration in Fedora 13

Hello: In my department, we have a lot of Linux (CentOS and Fedora) workstations. I set them up using Red Hat's kickstart method. With CentOS and earlier versions of Fedora, my kickstart post-install script used a bunch of lpadmin commands to preconfigure the printer queues for my users. With Fedora 13's new "automated" printer setup system, my lpadmin commands no longer work. I believe it's because the printer drivers are not installed by default, so the lpadmin commands fail due to missing drivers. I was wondering if someone could describe the correct way of preconfiguring network printer queues via a script. I don't want my users to have to set up their own printers. web server and IP address

Hi, i installed Fedora 13 in my virtualBox. under F13 i installed Apache 2, PHP and MySQL to have a test server for my Joomla development. everything works perfectly in local (directly under F13) but if i try to access to my web page from another computer - my host OS for example - it does not find the web page. i can ping without problem my F13 (guest) from my Win7 (host). it's like the web page is not accessible from outside local computer. in my local OS (F13) i can use localhost/test.php (for example) as normal IP (for example: 192.168.1.30/test.php) any idea why i can not access it from outside using 192.168.1.30/test.php ? thanks a lot -- Alain ----------------------------------------------------------- Windows 7 x64 / Fedora 12 PostgreSQL 8.3.5 / MS SQL server 2005 Apache 2.2.14 PHP 5.3.1 C# 2005-2008

Problems around my notebook - I need some debugging around the kernel

Hi Everyone, I have a little problems with my new laptop HP Probook 4515s with Fedora 13, and the latest kernel. 1. Somehow, I couldn't activate the broadcom PHY - wifi module, I have followed many advices - linuxwireless.org and after many tries I have given up. In result I got only an broken network manager. 2. After I have installed the newest stable kernel (2.6.34.6-47.fc13.i686) as update, the sleep function has been messed up. The machine instead of full sleep, it kills my notebook with overheating the still alive notebook with no fan, or when shuts down, except the fan what is getting ready to fly and never stops with closed lid. 3. Official Ati grfx driver doesn't work, but I have found that in even F14 too. Tried the workaround, but I have decided after the screen keeps died, I stick with the default. 4. There are several problems with PCI (pci 0000:00:01.0: MSI quirk detected; subordinate MSI disabled, PCI: CLS mismatch (64 != 32), using 64 bytes pci 0000:01:05.0: Boot video device) If I good know that there is an kernel swith what could correct CLS, but I couldn't find the correct params. 5. When the system boots, then I could catch several PCI collosions as message, but steps further in boot where you could follow in graphical mode the bootscreen. Somebody could help to what kind of files re needed, and what took for in order? -- PGP: 06853DF7

Well I found by holding down the shift key I can enter upper case text but the system continues to totally ignore the "Caps Lock" key state. I also found that connecting using a terminal with ssh the state of the caps lock key seems to work. The only thing I noticed that got updated that MAY have something to do with this is the VNC client, which I think is used in the back ground by Xrdp, but I'm not sure. Fedora-13 lastest update kills upper case text entry

I just updated my Fedora-13 64 bit box to the latest versions of the installed packages. Now I find I can't enter any upper case characters! Selecting upper case or lower case on the remote terminal makes no difference, everything is entered as lower case text. It worked just fine before the update. I connect using Xrdp remotely to a Gnome GUI desktop. Without being able to enter upper case text I'm screwed since various passwords I have use upper case. The system is almost totally useless right now. What the heck happened and how do I fix it! 73's Leland C. Scott KC8LDO

problems with catalyst driver

hi i m using dell optiplex 780 with a ATI Radeon HD 3470 with fedora 13 i have installed the 10.7 catalyst driver from rpmfusion and i have some problem with the display indeed when i scroll for example in firefox the display is not refreshed and i have some grey line on the screen if i hit reload the windows is refreshed does someone already had this kind of problem? thanks in advance for any answer
