mainstream kernel code contain RT3090 support; why Fedora not include it?

Know anyone why Fedora not contain drivers for Ralink RT3090/RT3091/RT3092 PCI/PCIe and USB wireless adapters? It seems as these are supported in mainstream kernel sources, but Fedora for any reason not compile them (corresponding symbols CONFIG_RT2800PCI_RT30XX and CONFIG_RT2800USB_RT30XX are not defined). I found some information from beginning this year about improper driver support for these device. But now? Regards, Franta Hanzlik

Configuration of HP L2045 monitor

I have Fedora 14 installed and now discover that between Fedora 12 and Fedora 14, the resolution of my HP L2045W monitor has changed from 1600x1200 down to 800x600. How do I reconfigure the resolution to 1600x1200? -- Chris Jones

xmms only playing mp3 as root

Good day, When tested xmms on mp3, I was logged in as root. As user it complains .. [johan@johan ~]$ xmms Message: device: default ** WARNING **: Failed to open font: "-adobe-helvetica-bold-r-*-*-10-*". ** WARNING **: oss_open(): Failed to open audio device (/dev/dsp): No such file or directory As root it plays but.. [root@johan ~]# xmms Message: device: default ** WARNING **: Failed to open font: "-adobe-helvetica-bold-r-*-*-10-*". ****** Well there is no such file as /dev/dsp ********** on my system Kindly some pointers please. USB Device info from terminal

Hi everybody In fedora 10 and below, When I was at Terminal and attached a USB device to my computer, It prints the device info in the Terminal such as Manufacture, Device driver in use and so on... but in fedora 12 and 13 It doesn't work How can I enable it?

set privoxy to rewrite http to https

I use the KB SSL Enforcer https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/flcpelgcagfhfoegekianiofphddcko… so i could browse the net safer [i mean webserver <-> me] with using https, if available. The problem is: e.g.: facebook... if i go to https://www.facebook.com/ that's ok, it's https. But all the links are "http" on the site.. if i click on a "http" link, it will request the page on "http", and THEN it switches to "https". Heres the problem. How/where could i write a privoxy rule, to rewrite all the "http" links to "https"? [so that it would by always trully over https] Are there any "general" rules (with privoxy), so that i don't have to write rules / site? with the KB SSL Enforcer its always first http, then it recognizes that the site can do https, than it switches to it. But i want to "bypass" the http part. thank you for any information Happy New Year!

ergonomic typing enforcement

I just bought an ergonomic keyboard because my wrists are starting to hurt. Now that I have one, I am trying to get rid of some bad habits that I've developed over many years. One such bad habit (according to some ergonomic typing web sites I've seen) is using the same hand to key a modifier and a letter (eg: left-control and f to move forward in emacs and shells). Is there a way to make such key combinations simply not work in fedora? For example, can I make it so left control plus [asdfzxcvbqwert] does nothing? Thanks... David
