Minor update question

I just started an update of Fedora 14 by yumex, and it listed ntfsprogs 2011.4.12-5.fc14 twice. Both are from updates and are the same size. I'm sure this is harmless, but does anybody know what's going on?

CentOS-6 by PXEboot?

Has anyone succeeded in installing CentOS-6.0 by PXEboot. If so, would you say how you did it, please. I tried, but gave up in the end and used a USB stick instead. Wireless available, but no APs found when scanning.

F15, fully up to date, KDE session. Kstart->Settings->System Settings-> Network Settings -> Wireless -> Add -> Scan doesn't find any APs available. All my other F15 computers show several. Manually, it finds some. See below. It also finds them when running from the F15 Live ISO. Where is the computer network name set and stored ?

When one installs F15 (KDE) via the Live ISO, the second part of the install process asks the user to set the computer network name, ie localhost@localdomain. When one changes localhost to another name, it shows up in the DHCP clients table of my Linksys E4200 router page. I like that. Where is this name stored ? How does one change what its set to ? $ cat /etc/hosts 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost ::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6 Thanks

How to setup IPSEC client?

Hi, I'm trying to setup FC14 with an IPSEC client to connect to my VPN at work. I have been given a PEM/KEY file for authentication (and a p12 if needed) but I can't seem to figure out how to configure IPSEC. I've been trying to read up on it as much as possible, but I just can't get a good grasp on how to do this. I have all the settings I need, but I just can't figure out how/where to configure them. The Network Manager tool doesn't have anything that supports PEM/Key certificates, and the same goes for the Network Configuration gui as well. Can anyone please point me in the right direction how to best set this up? Thanks! Eric

jackaudiosink and pulseaudio on F15

Hi, to route pulseaudio stream from media player to jack (for example, redirect audio output of rhythmbox to rackarrack) i used jackaudiosink; now it seems to me that jackaudiosink isn't included in gstreamer-plugins in F15. More in depth, in jack's faq (http://jackaudio.org/gstreamer_via_jack) i read that i have to set gconf value of /system/gstreamer/0.10/audio/default/musicaudiosink and /system/gstreamer/0.10/audio/default/audiosink to this value: jackaudiosink buffer-time=2000000 : how can this be done in GNOME 3's dconf? I found gstreamer-properties in gnome-media-apps, if jackaudiosink were available (compiling it) should it work?. Otherwise, does anyone know how to route pulseaudio to jack with F15? if it's not possible, this feature will be implemented in F16? Thanks, Daniele

Setting up graphical boot from scratch

Dear all, I just did a clean-slate install of F14 (less than 200 packages), and would like to play around with setting the system up manually. However, I am not entirely sure what scripts to modify in order to get the system to automatically start the X server and load a loginscreen. Could I just have some pointers? No extensive info is needed. Thanks in advance! Chris

Need help with a feature request

Back in August, I filed a feature request on Gnucash, pointing out that it's not possible to schedule a transaction for the third Wednesday of every month, or anything similar: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=656316 I've just gotten the first response to it, and that's a comment that a previous request for an enhancement of this nature was closed as WONTFIX. And, the request is still marked as UNCONFIRMED. If any of you use Gnucash and would find such a feature useful, please consider adding comments in support of it. It's not a major bug or anything, but I do think that there's a large number of Gnucash users out there who'd appreciate having this and the more people asking for it, the more likely it is that the developers will decide to look into it.
