When I first installed Fedora-18/KDE
sleep didn't work at all - on waking my laptop
(Thinkpad T61 with AMD/ATI M52 [Mobility Radeon X1300])
it just flashed every second or so, and I had to re-boot.
Now it works fine, but with one curious feature.
When I press the power button the laptop seems to be waking,
but then goes back to sleep.
When I press the power button a second time it wakes properly.
This doesn't worry me, as it only takes a couple of seconds in
But I'm slightly puzzled by it,
and wondered if mine is a general experience?

Is there anybody who know how to install Plasmate from the source?
I tried to install it from the sources (of course), following the
steps indicated in the file named "INSTALL"; but I got a error
>CMake Error: The source directory "~/bin/plasmate-1.0/plasmate/build" does not appear to contain CMakeLists.txt.
>Specify --help for usage, or press the help button on the CMake GUI.
Then by intuition I copied the file with that name from the superior
directory to the current one (build), and again I receive a error
message, when I re-run the cmake instruction:

The file 'INSTALL' has this as instructions:

Thanks for any help.
Hi! I try to install fedora 18 (fresh install not update) and after
custom partitioning (which was NOT obvious to choose) i receive this error :
"you have not created a bootloader stage1 target device
sda2 must have one of the following disklabel types :gpt."
the former / (sda2) i checked to be reformated ..
so .. what is going on ? f17 was happy on this thinkpad 420 ...
why not f18? Any ideea how can i skip this? (because i DO NOT WANT to
reformat my disk)

I assume you mean Preferences -> General and select Config Editor. I've done
that and it contains network.protocol-handler.app.http with the value
/opt/google/chrome/google-chrome and it hasn't had any effect.
BTW I'm on Fedora 18 now and on Fedora 16 I did not experience this problem. But
of course the TB versions are different, currently it is 17.0.3.

Sorry about the last post. New phone and I am not used to sending emails from it.
Command line: iptables -A INPUT -p tcp -dport 20 -j ACCEPT results in error Bad argument 20.
What did I do wrong?

I've been trying to update an f18-xfce using yum.
For whatever reason while loading repos I get to fedora.updates and the
download rate drops down to 3-4 kBs. f18 will be EOL by the time this
Ok, disable it. Try to install something (alsa-utils). Wants 5.8M but
this time at 3.0kBs.
Is there anyway to find out which one of the repo servers is foobar, and
if so, a way to blacklist it?
