How to install MATE on fedora workstation

Hi, I installed fedora 21 workstation, and trying to install MATE desktop on it. Command "yum groupinstall "MATE Desktop"" attempts to resolve dependencies and fails with conflict between fedora-release-workstation and fedora-release-nonproduct. So, is it possible to install MATE on workstation, or it is GNOME only now? Thanks.

Xfce screensave images

the directory: /usr/share/backgrounds/images Only has default. Is there an rpm with more images? I looked via yumex, and dit not see anything obvious.

Fedora-21 upgrade - lost WiFi

I've lost WiFi on upgrading my Thinkpad T61 from Fedora-20/KDE to Fedora-21, using fedup. The WiFi card is Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 . I have what I assume is the correct driver - iwl5965 (and iwlegacy) loaded, When I run "sudo ip link show" the following interfaces are listed: 1: lo 2: enp0s25: 3: wlp3s0: I take it the last means the WiFi card is seen? But now I get [tim@rose network-scripts]$ sudo ifconfig wlp3s0 up SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not possible due to RF-kill I'm not sure what this signifies? [tim@rose network-scripts]$ sudo rfkill list gives 1: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: no But after [tim@rose network-scripts]$ sudo rfkill unblock all I can run [tim@rose tmp]$ sudo ifconfig wlp3s0 up without complaint. Now ifconfig shows the interface, but without the local IP address given in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-wlp3s0 Maybe NM no longer reads this file? After [tim@rose tmp]$ sudo ifconfig wlp3s0 192.168.2.3 ifconfig shows this correct local address. But I am unable to connect to any other machine, and the router does not log any attempted connectiion. f21 raid problem

Hi all, I just tried an f21 installation with Fedora-Server onto brand new NAS quality 1TB drives. During the disk setup portion I selected "Modify", then "Raid Type", then "1". Everything went smoothly. It wouldn't boot. Easy fix. grub2 installed to sda but sdb was the last disk recognized by the BIOS. Specified "Boot from sda" to the BIOS and it came up. grub2-install /dev/sdb. Now I can boot from either sda or sdb. But there's a hitch. During boot it pauses for a while then issues an error message... error: failure reading sector 0x3b0 from `fd0' error: failure reading sector 0x0 from `fd0' ...then proceeds to boot. This happens regardless of which disk it uses. Install f21 to each of the drives separately and neither shows errors. It seems almost impossible that both would have identical bad sectors. And why are the errors reported from floppy drive 0?. Didn't see anything like it on bugzilla but my bugz-foo isn't very good. Anybody seen anything like this? Any ideas how to proceed from here? On a system not fed up from fedup -- not the one that is hosed for now -- I do the following: sudo yum --releasever=21 distro-sync .... abrt crashing when reporting crashes F21

Has anyone run into abrt crashing when you try to report a crash? I get to the point where the trace is done, I enter what happened, and click "forward". Then, it goes boom! I've deleted ~/.cache/abrt and ~/.config/abrt to see if that helps the next time. -- -- Steve

bfo on virtual box

Server mount problem -

I have the following lines in /etc/fstab: 192.168.1.8:/home/ /mnt/HOME1/ nfs4 defaults 0 0 192.168.1.8:/home/ /mnt/DATA1/ nfs4 defaults 0 0 192.168.1.48/myshare/ /mnt/box48 cifs guest,uid=1000,iocharset=utf8 0 0 The nfs4 server [192.168.1.8] is mounted at boot, the Samba cifs server is not. It does mount easily enough with: [root@box10 bobg]# mount //192.168.1.48/myshare/ /mnt/box48/ I also tried several variations on the theme, 192.168.1.48/myshare/ /mnt/box48 cifs defaults 0 0 but nothing I can think of mounts that server in the boot process. F21 src rpm iso on Fedora mirrors - missing ?

Hello, Fedora users, I looked in the fedora mirror sites for DVD of F21 src rpms, and could not find. For F20 there were DVD of F21 src rpms on fedora mirrors. There are vailable single src rpms in Fedora mirror sites. For fedora 21, are these source rpms DVD not exist anymore on fedora mirrors? Regards, Kevin

gnome-shell-extension-weather not working in F21

In F21, gnome-tweak-tool gives the error "Extension does not support shell version" for gnome-shell-extension-weather, and it can't be enabled. It was working fine in F20. Am mentioning it here since it seems strange that after almost a week, no one else has mentioned it. I filed https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3435 . I'd ask on the rpmfusion mailing lists except that there's almost no activity over there. Is this affecting anyone else?
