dnf errors on update

Having trouble trying to update Fedora 22 this morning. [root@localhost frankzen] # dnf update Failed to synchronize cache for repo 'rpmfusion-nonfree-updates-testing' from 'http://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/mirrorlist?repo=nonfree-fedora-updates-testing…': Cannot prepare internal mirrorlist: Curl error (7): Couldn't connect to server for http://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/mirrorlist?repo=nonfree-fedora-updates-testing… [Failed to connect to mirrors.rpmfusion.org port 80: Connection timed out], disabling. This is followed by similar errors on every repo. I tried ' dnf clean all ' but that didnt help. Is this just my problem or is it more wide spread ? Thanks

VNC and sound

I am running Fedora 22 on a machine that is off in a closet and am using VNC to access it from a machine at my desk. I followed the instructions in System Admin guide chapter 8: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/22/html/System_Administrators_G… I successfully got Tiger VNC server working. it was quite easy. Cudos to everyone involved to make that so simple. My VNC client is Windows TigerVNC version 1.5. I don't seem to get sound. It doesn't seem to come out on my VNC client or on the VNC server's sound card. My remote machine is close enough that I could run a wire from it's sound card to the speakers on my desk if that is easier. But, right now I can;t get the sound to come out the VNC server sound card. Any pointers or recommendations are appreciated. Thanks Chris Kottaridis

can't upgrade filesystem-3.2-32.fc23.x86_64

Fedora 23 It has been since a few eeeks now upgrading filesystem-3.2-32.fc23.x86_64 to filesystem-3.2-35.fc23.x86_64 fails. The only thing I can find in log files is this: Dec 14 16:00:02 ERROR Error unpacking rpm package filesystem-3.2-35.fc23.x86_64 Until now my system is working well, but I would like to avaid any burden issue to one day break everything. Cinnamon 2.8 disable panel/taskbar thumbnails preview

Hi, how can I disable thumbnails preview in taskbar? It came with v2.8 and the release notes state "/This is configurable and it can be disabled in the applet preferences if you would rather just see tooltips./", but I can't find it.

LibreOffice 5.0.3.2 - Slow response time

Everyone, I have been having problems with LibreOffice since Fedora 22 being slow to the point that it is easier to use LibreOffice on one or our FC20 machines. I currently have a new install of F23, with a good processor and 24 gigs of memory and was hoping the problem was fixed, but it is not. I have increased the memory that LibreOffice uses in the "General" tab, but this does not seem to make a difference. The biggest problem with F23 LibrOffice is when a cut and paste process is performed. Has anyone else had this problem? Any Suggestions? Greg Ennis

Black screen and no response after fedup update to 22?

I've had this happen on two older notebooks recently that were running Fedora 21 just fine. Did an update on one using fedup to 22, and process went thru with no issues, and the login screen would come up, but after entering the password, the screen would go blank except for the mouse pointer that would move around, but nothing else. Couldn't even get a terminal window (Ctrl-Alt-F?) at that point. Was able to hard reboot, and without attempting to login, was able to get a terminal window to open. Tried a number of things, but the final thing that seemed to make it work was diabling gdm.server after downloading lightdm and making it the active service. But since I had done a number of things, wasn't 100% sure that was it. Just did the update on another older notebook on Saturday, and got the same black screen and no response after trying to login. Did just the hard reboot, and opened a terminal window. Installed lightdm, and did the switch to lightdm instead of gdm, and rebooted the system, and again the screen Fedora 22 came up normall. Don't know why there was no issue with Fedora 21, but 22 had this problem. +----------------------------------------------------------+ Michael D. Windows 10 virtio drivers?

On my fedora 22 box, I have a Windows 7 KVM with virtio drivers for disk and network and qxl and spice for video. It works really well, but of course it keeps badgering me to upgrade to Windows 10. Are there virtio drivers available for Windows 10 yet? The page at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Windows_Virtio_Drivers still talks like Windows XP is likely to be running. Is there a guide anywhere for how to get the Windows 10 update to actually install properly inside a KVM? (I can find lots of pages describing how it doesn't work :-). Naturally whatever I wind up doing, I'll be saving a copy of the disk image from Windows 7 so I can easily revert back.

I see kernel 4.3.1 has been officially released: http://lkml.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/1512.1/01644.html Will it show up in the repos soon for fedora 23 (or 22)? (I'd really like to have the bugfix is is supposed to include for intel video).
