I found https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/Historic/ and https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/Historic/old-versions/ and http://draconux.free.fr/os_dev/linux0.01.html But I cannot find any first CD iso releases. Thanks for any links.

Mister Steve Dodier-Lazaro, if you are unable to answer a very simple question, it is still just OK for me. Is it really needed, this your escapade, here[0] in xfce4-dev list? Please for the future reference, try not to judge just because you do not understand, even though it was really simple question. Rather prefer to keep trying and looking for an explanation. Problems while installing NVdivia proprietary drivers

Dear All, I have installed the NVidia property drivers from RPMFusion repositories, inside a text session. Afterwards, I ran as root: nvidia-xconfig and rebooted. However, no X session is started after the reboot. Could someone please give some help? Thanks in advance, Paul

graphical interfaces for just **using** MySql/MariaDB?

Greetings, I am looking for a FOSS graphical interface to ONLY USE, NOT manage, an already existing MySql or Maria DB database. In other words, I only need a decent GUI that, with as little setup as possible, lets me choose a table in a database find a record in it create or modify records in one USABLE form by usable I mean, at least put one, max 3/4 field per row, ie fit all in the screen, instead of showing one row with all the fields, which is 5 times larger than the screen, thus making me waste a lot of time to go over it present all fields that are defined as ENUM as dropdown menus of all the possible entries I **KNOW** that Open/Libreoffice can do this, in theory. but in practice, for some reason making them talk to a mysql/mariadb database still never works painlessly on Fedora, not in my experience anyway I'd even be happy (even happier, in fact) with a LAMP, in-browser interface for this, instead of a native desktop client. But I could not find FOSS php classes/packages that could do the above AND would work with current version of php. Any pointer? TIA, marco -- http://mfioretti.com

how to set a wakealarm in F20

I would like to set a wakealarm so that my computer will boot up at a certain time. In researching this, all I have found includes altering the /etc/rc.d/init.d/halt, which is present if F19 but not in F20. I have not been able to find anything in systemd about doing this. Has any one been able to do this. Any pointers in where to look for information. Thanks, David

F21 partitioning circus

Hi, booted from the F21 XFCE spin and tried to create four primary partitions: /boot/efi swap / /home However, this seems to be impossible. When choosing the last of the four partitions, the F21 installer automatically generates a /dev/sda5, within an extended partition (sda4). No matter what I try, it always ends up this way. WTF?? Is there something I missed? Thanks, Heinz.

Qt 4.x -- Qt 5.x -- qtgrace -- segfault

Hi, I've tried to build and run qtgrace on fedora 20 and it almost always segfaults. The only time it worked was within a remote desktop running in x2go. I have attempted with both Qt 4.x and 5.x from the fedora repo. qtgrace http://qtgrace.sourceforge.net/ I tried this posted solution but it still failed on Gnome, LXDE and Cinnamon. Problems setting default mailer

I have been wrestling with setting the default mailer in Fedora 21 under mate. when I use xdg-settings set default-url-scheme-handler mailto mozilla-thunderbird.desktop It says the desktop environment is unknown. Can anyone tell me where the envronment under Mate is supposed to be set ?

Restoring the usual graphical boot panel

Dear All, After having installed the NVidia proprietary drivers, the usual boot panel with a ball with an "F" in the middle does not show up anymore; now, I get a bar at the bottom of the screen, which increases its length as the booting activity is progressing. Is it possible to get back the usual graphical boot panel? Thanks in advance, Paul
