pcregrep question

Hi. I'm embarrassed to say I can't resolve this. So, my mind has gone blank! I've got a test file, with the following lines. Basically, I want a grep/regex to traverse the multiple lines to return the lines. ll_=urllib.quote_plus(simplejson.dumps(b2))+"\n" pathchildcount_filep.write(ll_) I've tried a number of attempts.. I thought something similar to the following should work. (but no luck) pcregrep -Mi ".+urllib.quote_plus(simplejson.dumps(b2))(.+\n).+path" foo.py The test file actually has the "\n" chars as text but the regex/grep can ignore it, to focus on getting the two lines.. In the case of the example, both lines start at the beginning of the line. Thanks (no laffing!!)

I'm at F-23 now, and it still works. My only suggestion is to try the rpm that Ed pointed me to. I personally would like to see this tool supported again. 2. A new color standard "Rec. 2020" has been adopted. Eventually, monitors will become available that can display the full range of colors that this new standard encodes. That range of colors is substantially larger than the sRGB that most of today's monitors can display. xv, the gimp, and everything else that involves color will need updating to properly handle and display colors encoded according the new standard. I suspect the same is true of Fedora itself, and quite possibly the Linux kernel. I hope the appropriate people are on top of this! Bill.

Import pxssh failed in Fedora 24 (worked in Fedora 23 and earlier vresions)

Hi all, I ran a python 2 script which works fine for Fedora 23 and earlier, with python-2.7. It stopped to work on Fedoera 24 ; following are details: python Python 2.7.10 (default, Sep 8 2015, 17:20:17) [GCC 5.1.1 20150618 (Red Hat 5.1.1-4)] on linux2 Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> import pexpect >>> import pxssh >>> .... ... rpm -q python-pexpect python-pexpect-3.1-4.fc23.noarch In fedora 24, I don't have python-pexpect, it seems that python2-pexpect replaced it. DNF does not actually upgrade

I did sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=24 --enablerepo=rpmfusion-free-updates-testing --enablerepo=rpmfusion-nonfree-updates-testing --nogpgcheck which downloaded a lot of packages and ended with Complete! Download complete! Use 'dnf system-upgrade reboot' to start the upgrade. The downloaded packages were saved in cache until the next successful transaction. But when I do sudo dnf system-upgrade reboot The system reboots, pauses near the end and says "preparing upgrade. this may take a while". After about 3 minutes, it reboots again and I'm still in F23. There's no upgrade option on the boot screen, just the F23 kernels -- -- Steve

Linphone configuration

Dear users, my name is Pavel Vlček. I am from Czech Republic. I am using screen reader and Fedora 24. I have a small issues with Linphone 3.6.1, can you help? When I want to add my sip account, I fill user name, password and domain, but the Appli button can't be clicked. My question is, do you know, why? I used 3.9.1 Linphone when I used Arch Linux, but 3.9.1 isn't officially in Fedora and some repository which I found has code 500 error. Can someone help please? Thanks, Pavel Vlček

LiveUSB-Creator -

It appears that LiveUSB-creator [aka Fedora Media Writer] no longer writes to a usb flash stick from data saved to my Fedora23 hard drive but insists on downloading a copy itself? Fedora 24 install fail

Trying to install Fedoar 24 to a new machine. System freezes on the install just after and EDAC sbridge, - couldn't find mci handler. Used to have an message about KVM before but enabled VT in bios and that disappeared. Tried Fedora 24 live and Fedora 24 KDE live with the same problem. ASUS sabertooth X99 motherboard. Latest BIOS. nVidia Titan X video card. I suspect issue is with Titan X not being supported by Nouveau enough for install. The matrix says it should work without some basic features. https://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/FeatureMatrix/ Will try a different nVidia card and see if that works. Robin

Minimizing downloads for multiple dnf system-upgrades

I have a bunch of x86-64 machines on my LAN. It seems to be a major waste of time to have each one of them plow through and download all F24 packages. I suppose I can poke around and find where the first one ends up downloading all the packages to, before the install, and then rsyncing the whole thing over to the next box. But I was wondering if there was a less hacky way to do this.

Usually on a new release I've had more problems by now, but F24 hasn't been giving me too much trouble. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1350128 Emacs install doesn't make the info dir file entries for the various emacs info files (fixed that by running the update tool by hand). https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1350112 Nothing broken, just spews strange and meaningless messages about systemd units at odd times. Probably not a postfix problem, but postfix is where it shows up, so that's where I reported it :-). https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1348757 This bug had already been reported, but I added to it because I have the same problem with kshisen crashing. I'm running with fedora 24 as my default boot now, hopefully it will continue to work well.

F24 starts in command line - SOLVED

Everyone: I thought I'd start a new thread, just to let everyone know I had a solution to the problem of F24 starting with a command-line login, not the graphical login I'd been used to. I'll pass along these two commands, which come from Garry T. Williams: sudo systemctl --force enable sddm.service sudo systemctl start sddm.service Run the second program only if you haven't started X already. If you have, do a restart. I had found sddm.service disabled on my setup. Maybe it always was, and I never gave it a second's thought. Anyway, F24 now starts as it should. And one thing I got back, is a full-sized "firetray" icon for either Firefox or Thunderbird. The latter is important: I now have back an accurate count of my unread messages, and can make Thunderbird disappear and reappear at will. Firefox, also--but Firefox gives me no other indicators. Thus far, aside from a very old off-line password manager that no one has maintained since F12, everything works as I'm used to seeing it work. I'm running KDE, and now I get a complete KDE login, and can directly select a user account, type in a password, and sign in, exactly as I do with Windows. (WinDoze?) I must say this dnf system upgrade program works better than I anticipated. And much better than fedup ever did. It shows me my progress in a way I can understand. Thanks to the development team, and to all of you for your helpful suggestion. Temlakos
