Any apps for using a tablet as a second monitor?

Hi all,

Setting aside the cheese at the end, it actually seems like a
brilliant idea. I wonder if anyone knows of anything like this for using
android tablets as second/third displays on Fedora? This would make dev
work sooooo much nicer!
I generally don't use an external monitor simply because they're not
portable. A tablet or two though... :D

bluetooth mouse

I have an old Dell Vostro 1500 laptop. It was running
Fedora 17 with no problems with the bluetooth mouse I use.
After a fresh install of Fedora 24 Workstation I can't
get the mouse to reconnect after a boot. Systemctl
reports bluetoothd 'Failed to obtain handles for
"Serviced Changed" characteristic'. Both blueman-manager
and blueman-applet report the adapter is off and are
unable to turn it on.
I can go into bluetoothctl, power on the adapter and
connect to the mouse. Things are fine until a reboot.
lshw reports the bluetooth adapter is a Broadcom BCM2045.
Any thoughts on how to get the adapter powered on at boot
and the mouse auto-reconnected as it nicely did 7 Fedora
releases ago.

Network problem in Fedora 24

My problem is this --- on Fedora 23 I was managing my network interface
my self since Network Manager was causing problems. Now in F24, I
noticed that my nic now has the SLAVE flag on. I do not have any
network access at all. I tried allowing Network Manager to control the
device but still had the same problem.
I am writing this using the F23 kernel. My configuration looks like
this:

How to turn off the touchpad?

appear to be there any more.

Hi all,
There was a thread on here recently about ssh agent forwarding. Usually
I start it like this:

ssh-agent
ssh-add
</code>
I came across a situation where I couldn't establish a connection to the
agent when I tried to "ssh-add" my keys. ssh-agent had been executed
already. It had somehow become discombobulated.
The solution was to invoke ssh-agent differently:

eval `ssh-agent -s`
ssh-add
</code>
Hope that saves somebody else some headaches ;D

fedora 23 bluetooth connection

Something changed (although not fatally):
I use Bluetooth speakers quite often.
Back in F22 or so after pairing the device merely turning it on caused
Fedora to connect to it.
Several months ago, now on F23, (not sure when this problem appeared)
that changed and after turning the speaker on, I have to go into
Bluetooth Settings where the device appears as "Disconnected", select it
and activate the "Connection" switch several times and it will
eventually connect and be available for selection in the "Sound
Settings" after which it works fine.
Is there a path back?
The setup is up to date Fedora 23 using Gnome 3.18.1-1.fc23.x86_64

Upgrading from 23 to 24

Is it save to use the option '--allowerasing'?
4.6.4-201.fc23.i686+PAE, which would be deleted is the current running kernel.
When will the delete happen? Hopefully later with the "dnf system-upgrade reboot".

Printing From Fedora to HP Laser Jet 1020 on D-Link Print Server

I have a D-Link DSL 2750U Router which also has a USB Port that can be used
to connect a USB Printer and make the router work as a Print Server. I
have been trying to print to a HP Laser Jet 1020 Printer using this print
server from Fedora 23/24. The D-Link documentation suggests specifying
http://172.16.100.1:631/printers/HP as the Printer URI. This configuration
works very well over the network while using a Windows system but it does
not print at all from the Fedora machine even after trying various
permutations and combinations. Also, the printer works fine when its
connected locally to the Fedora 24 system.
Has anyone tried a similar thing or can give any suggestions ?
This laser printer is a "special printer" and uses the foo2zjs driver (
http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/ ) to print on Linux and it loads a firmware on
the printer. The D-Linux DSL 2750U is also a Linux device and is running
ippd for this print server to work. The printer is assigned the
/dev/usb/lp/lp0 device on the D-Link router. I could also find the firmware
for this printer on the router box under /etc/hotplug/firmware directory
and I assume it will be getting pushed to the printer when its connected.

Turning off assitive technologies

This is probably off topic, but I was playing around with the universal
access technologies on Fedora 24, and I'm in a weird state.
I enabled it in Gnome Classic, but there doesn't seem to be a way to
turn it off.
If I logout from Gnome Classic and login using the MATE desktop and go
to the assistive technologies entry in the control panel it shows it as
not enabled, i.e the checkbox is not checked. However, the system is
still saying every character I type. I would have thought that if I
logout and change desktops it should disable the universal access
technologies.
Anybody have an idea how to turn it off?
Any help is appreciated.
