Can dnf get me OSM? I tried osm, OSM, and openstreetmap. I don't doubt there's some sort of .iso on their own site, but with a program so vast ... -- Beartooth Staffwright, Not Quite Clueless Power User Remember I know little (precious little!) of where up is.

Vagrant vbguest on Fedora 30

Seems like there's a conflict between rubygem libs in Vagrant: $ vagrant plugin install vagrant-vbguest Installing the 'vagrant-vbguest' plugin. Custom rtsp/rtmp server for incoming video streams

Searching some likely keywords using "dnf list" came up empty. There are some Android apps that stream video from the phone to Youtube/Facebook but also have an option to stream video to a custom RTSP or RTMP URL. The only thing I could find in dnf are a few packages that can stream video files to an RTSP or an RTMP client. I'm looking to do the opposite, set up a server that receives streamed video and saves it to files. Anyone knows of anything that does that?

Fedora 30 - setting IP addresses

HI all, I had installed Fedora 30 and /etc/network-scripts/ is empty, there are no ifcfg-eth* files. In Fedora 29, I had set eth0 to be a dhclient interface by editing /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 (or /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-enp182s0f1) and setting BOOTPROTO=dhcp ... ONBOOT=yes How can I achieve similar outcome in Fedora 30 ? Regards, Kevin

DNF remove only?

A package has been broken and needs to be re-installed. DNF sees the package as installed and won't take any action. DNF remove removes dependencies, so that's a solution, but requires considerable work and is frught with problems. Any suggestions?

Laptop's display not visible in setting

Hi everyone. I upgraded yesterday my HP Pavilion from Fedora 29 to 30. Everything went wonderfully, thank you all. I have a second monitor attached to it via HDMI. All run perfectly and when I came back I realized the laptop's screen was gray with the fedora logo on it. It is there but I can't use it, like it is not part of the desktop. In the GNOME settings I do not see any other screen than the monitor. Did not give much thought to it, and went to sleep. This morning, I disconnected the second monitor to see if booting only with its own monitor would do something and no... gray screen again. The grub screens appear on the laptops monitor but the login screen is on the external monitor. I also tried the NVIDIA X server settings where both screens were earlier and there is only one screen listed :-( Can anyone help me out to make the laptop's monitor work again? Fedora 30 workstation: How to use Tray Icons out of the box (without add an extension)

When an application like remmina, telegram, keepassxc, ecc. is start, it put an icon on tray on all other DE like Cinnamon, Mate, ecc.... Default route not correctly added

Hi, I've just installed fedora30 desktop on a friend's computer for him. It was installed and configured here before he brought it to his house and connected it to his cable modem. Previously I had set up port forwarding on his modem from port 8027 to port 8027 on his system for web access and port 8022 to port 8022 on his system for remote ssh access. I used the gnome network manager to configure networking and just manually configured ssh to listen on port 8022 instead of the default. The problem is that, after bringing it back to his house and putting it online, the default route was not added properly and the system was unreachable until I stepped him through the process of adding it manually. This is the command I had him run as root to configure the default route: # route add default gw 192.168.9.1 dev enp4s6 Here is that /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-Wired_connection_2 config: HWADDR=00:0E:0C:3B:35:68 TYPE=Ethernet PROXY_METHOD=none BROWSER_ONLY=no BOOTPROTO=none IPADDR=192.168.9.110 PREFIX=24 GATEWAY=192.168.9.1 DEFROUTE=yes IPV4_FAILURE_FATAL=no IPV6INIT=yes IPV6_AUTOCONF=yes IPV6_DEFROUTE=yes IPV6_FAILURE_FATAL=no IPV6_ADDR_GEN_MODE=stable-privacy NAME="Wired connection 2" UUID=850cde8f-7dc2-364a-8911-e511cdbea2e4 ONBOOT=yes DNS1=8.8.4.4 AUTOCONNECT_PRIORITY=-999 Is there something immediately identifiable that would prevent the default route from working? Typically NAME and DEVICE are the name of the device, like enp4s6, but they don't exist in this config. Is that what is missing? I can't easily reboot this machine, so want to be sure before I do it.

F30, XFCE google-earth-pro problem

I have a newly installed F30, XFCE system. google-earth-pro will run from a terminal (user fred) but has a 50 second startup and closedown time. Tests have shown that su - fred and then running google-earth-pro avoids the delay. env shows greatly fewer environmental variables are set in the "su - fred" case. This led to an alternative approach of un-setting some environmental variables. (without the "su - fred" step) unset XDG_RUNTIME_DIR; unset DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS; google-earth-pro The delay is no longer present and google-earth-pro appears to run OK. Has anyone any idea what is going on here? How important are those environmental variables?

Command 'L' in 'fdisk' Shows a Changed List

Hello Friends For a very long time I was using Fedora, much older versions. A few days back I installed Fedora 30. I was using fdisk to format an USB pendrive. After creating a new partition with 'n' and checking with 'p' that it was created, I typed 't' to change the type from 'Linux Filesystem' to something compatible with MSW. If I am remembering correctly, earlier I used 'c' for 'LBA 32' partition. But now, when I hit 'L' for the list, it showed me an entirely unknown kind of table. I could nowhere get any documentation for this new kind of table. I could not understand anything. Thanks in advance for any help. -- দাশ das http://ddts.randomink.org/
