I made a fresh install. But for some reasons, I gave a password,
and this password is not recognize!
How can I reset the password?
It is the first boot, fedora asked a first user.
Thank for your help.

Aplay no play -
by Bob Goodwin
This is a re-installed Fedora 31 updated. I don't understand why aplay
is not producing a test sound.
[root@Workstation-1 bobg]# aplay /usr/share/sounds/purple/login.wav
XDG_RUNTIME_DIR (/run/user/1000) is not owned by us (uid 0), but by uid
1000! (This could e.g. happen if you try to connect to a non-root
PulseAudio as a root user, over the native protocol. Don't do that.)
ALSA lib pulse.c:242:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect:
Connection refused
aplay: main:828: audio open error: Connection refused
What does this mean and how do I fix it?

remembering windows position and size for next reboot
by Frederic Muller
Hi!
I've been (unsuccessfully) looking for a solution for just one app,
Thunderbird. Does anyone have any suggestion? I use GNOME as a desktop
manager.
Thank you.

F30: Sudden failure of an rpm-build script
by John Pilkington
I have been using a script in F30 to build rpms for MythTV. It worked
yesterday. Today it fails:
spectool --get-files --force --source=0 --directory=$TMPSDIR/SOURCES
$TMPSDIR/SPECS/mythtv.spec
giving
curl: (35) error:1409441:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:sslv3 alert
handshake failure
I have rebooted.
Does this need a BZ?

Authentication is required to mount /dev/fedora_localhost-live/home
by Patrick O'Callaghan
I get the above every time I log in, with a pop-up asking for my
password. It never used to happen on F30 but I created a new
installation for F31 and it's been nagging me ever since. I also don't
know why it talks about fedora_localhost-live as I've never installed
Fedora from a live image. This install used LVM, against my better
judgement, so that may have something to do with it.
This is under KDE, if it matters, and the pop-up just talks about "an
application needing authentication", without saying which application.
Any thoughts?

Re: no remote syslog when hibernating
by Samuel Sieb
I'm going to assume that you didn't mean to only send it to me, so I'll
bring it back to the list.

Since the first message is the network card shutting down, you obviously
aren't going to get any more messages to the remote server before
hibernation. So it depends on if whatever you're using to send logs
will queue up the messages until the network is back again.
