[F32] Switch user no working (never worked)
by Frédéric
Hi everybody,
I'm a long time user of Fedora + KDE/Plasma desktop but this has never
worked: sometimes, I want to switch user from a Plasma session, i.e. I
want to open a new Plasma session while the first one still runs in
the background. When I do that, I just get a black screen.
On this laptop, I'm running Fedroa 32 with Plasma and kdm. I also have
the proprietary Nvidia driver from rpmfusion*.
Has anyone ever been able to switch user correctly with Fedora? with
Plasma+kdm? Is it due to kdm, should I use another one?
Thanks in advance,
F
* removing the proprietary driver is not an option because my children
use the laptop to run Minecraft and it is much smoother with the
proprietary driver and they complain already that they do not have
Windows...

GarminExpress
by Patrick Dupre
Hello,
It seems that sources are available for GarminExpress
https://developer.garmin.com/open-source/linux/
But there is no instructions for the installation (i.e., after the untar)
Did see somebody already tried to install it?
Thanks

how to monitor data usage by app
by Anil Felipe Duggirala
hello,
I am trying to save my phone data when I use it connecting my Fedora 33
workstation laptop to it. Today for example, 100MB of data were used in
the first few minutes after I connected my laptop to this connection.
The Gnome Wifi settings have a allowed me to set this connection as a
Metered Connection, which means updates should not be running when I am
connected to it.
I would like to know, how can a monitor which program or process is
consuming my data? By day? or also in real time view process network
consumption?
thank you,

surprise while upgrading
by François Patte
Bonjour,
I wanted to upgrade a machine today and run dnf upgrade...
Amongst the packages, I could see a full install of texlive which is not
installed....
So, I asked:
rpm -q --whatrequires texlive
answer: aucun paquet ne requiert texlive (no package requires texlive)....
I thought that, maybe, it was not a full install of texlive and asked,
randomly choosing a package that this upgrade wanted to install:
rpm -q --whatrequires texlive-polyglossia
answer: aucun paquet ne requiert texlive (no package requires texlive)....
What's wrong?
Thank you.

dnf conflict with cockpit upgrades
by Richard Shaw
So as far as I can remember I haven't done anything custom here but...
Problem 1: package cockpit-bridge-235-1.fc33.x86_64 conflicts with
cockpit-dashboard < 233 provided by cockpit-dashboard-229-1.fc33.noarch
- cannot install the best update candidate for package
cockpit-dashboard-229-1.fc33.noarch
- cannot install the best update candidate for package
cockpit-bridge-229-1.fc33.x86_64
Problem 2: problem with installed package
cockpit-dashboard-229-1.fc33.noarch
- package cockpit-bridge-235-1.fc33.x86_64 conflicts with
cockpit-dashboard < 233 provided by cockpit-dashboard-229-1.fc33.noarch
- package cockpit-system-235-1.fc33.noarch requires cockpit-bridge >=
235-1.fc33, but none of the providers can be installed
- cannot install the best update candidate for package
cockpit-system-229-1.fc33.noarch
Is it me or a packaging problem?
Thanks,
Richard

errors during update.
by Frank McCormick
Saw a couple of errors in the middle of an update today on Fedora 33.
Couldn't figure out how to copy/paste so I have a small screenshot.
The system **seems** to work fine after this. Is it something
I should be concerned about?
Thanks

Nothing that I can see relevant to this problem.
