Fedora 42 Virtualization Test Day is underway!

Fedora41: Libreoffice crash on PDF export

Hi, Running Fedora41 with all RPM updates to date, and with KDE on X11. A recent update to libreoffice has done two things: 1. On exporting a "*.odt" file using the toolbar "Export to PDF" button, libreoffice will often crash. Not first time after you load the document, but perhaps after opening a few documents or editing them. It crashes 95% of the time for me. Note generally saving to an NFS mounted directory. A workaround is to open the file again (recover or not) and then export as a PDF immediately. has anyone else seen this ? 2. The export to PDF behaviour has changed. It used to, by default, export to the directory where the "*.odt" file resides. It now seems to export to the last directory it exported a PDF to. This is useless/bad for the way we work with multiple projects. Is there a way to get the old behaviour back ? Terry

I need help with xRDP

Hi All, Fedora 41 Xfce 4.12 I am trying to set up xRDP with Xfce. When I log into xRDP from mstsc.exe (Windows 10), I am prompted (session = Xorg) from my user name and password. After entering it, I get a blue screen that eventually times out with Can't create session for user todd -X server could not be started. What am I doing wrong? -T This is the instructors I am following: Install Xrdp Server to connect to Fedora Desktop Xfce from the Windows Remote Desktop feature. DNF Error Messages

Hi, I did a DNF upgrade this morning, which was the first upgrade for about a week, and got the following errors from post-install scripts DNF runs. Lenovo crashes on resume on battery problem

I am at a meeting and resumed on battery. The system started up and pretty much shut right off. But notice that the case sensitive search took over 7 1/4 MINUTES; the case INsensitive search took less than 1/20 second. That's a nearly 4 orders of magnitude difference! I would think that the case INsensitive search would involve more processing, and so should take longer. What's going on?

problems adding a new printer to HP Device Manager

I just set up an HP 9125e ink jet. What a job. The tools expect dumb networks and it took me hours to figure out how to get things setup. But it is done now. I got through their Android setup program and got the printer's ethernet working as I want. On my F41 system with Xfce, I have the printer showing in Printer Setup and can print to it. But I cannot get HP Device Manager to find the thing. I tried both the DNS name I have for it and the direct IPv4. Any tips? thanks
