A simple disconnect and reconnect of your wired connection should renew it's IP address and /etc/resolv.conf else why not just reboot.
I have already rebooted many times, no help. My request on how to restart NetworkManager is more out of desperation, in the mad hope that kicking NetworkManager via "restart" might make my f16 capable of not getting that DNS failed error.
