We're running such a setup. Basically we mirror the fedora site and then create our own yum repository from there. All clients have their own yum configurations to point to our repository rather than the official mirror list. I came across that article yesterday when I was looking for references to use in my earlier reply. It's a good article, but having been written for FC2 is a little out of date now ("createrepo" should be used instead of "yum-arch", and the configuration file updates should be made to .repo files in /etc/yum.repos.d rather than /etc/yum.conf).
