I recently upgraded to F40 (KDE) and, for the most part, everything is working. Except the login screen.
I've tried to install slick-greeter and lightdm-gtk-greeter, following whatever recommendations I found online. The result is a hung system with a black screen until I remove the greeter configuration and reboot.
Can someone point me to a reasonable login screen and configuration?
I had a bad upgrade a couple of years ago. I had to install/reinstall the following for KDE on Fedora.
* sddm (reinstall) * kde-style-breeze (install)
And I had to remove this to get rid of the Soft Input Panel/Virtual Keyboard. I installed it after things broke, but it was not needed:
* gtk3-engines-breeze
Checking my F40 machine, it looks like sddm is still being used:
$ sudo ps -A | grep -i sddm 1450 ? 00:00:00 sddm 1621 ? 00:00:00 sddm-helper
