Which scanner/copier does everyone use, that works out of the box with Xsane?Printing would be nice but I already have an HP that does the job for me.
I don't use xsane, but my Brother multi-function color laser scans with the Gnome scanning app with no problems. It depends on what you mean by "out of the box". I did install a driver at one point and I assume that's still being used.
I've now checked and I can't find any installed driver and cups says it's "driverless", so that would imply it working out of the box and I would expect any newer models to do the same.
If it is driverless, it is probably using IPP or IPP over USB. See https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/quick-docs/cups-useful-tricks/.
Yes, it's a wifi printer and it's using IPP and it's working fine. I was just clarifying my previous comment where I thought I had installed a driver.
Btw, my Fedora computer is apparently the only one that can print double-sided properly to it. The phones and Windows computers will only print short side flip for some reason even if long is selected. It's very strange.
