Does it happen before anything prints, or half-way through a job? Are there any useful messages in /var/log/cups/error_log?
The same happen when I try to print on local printer, or on SMB printer, or on LPD printer. I have tried to configure Samba, Cupsd, and nothing was helpful.
If local printing isn't working, the problem is local.
