where you said:
When got updated kernel into 6.9.12-200.fc40.x86_64 Stopped my elitebooks wifi working and weird thing is, that does not work with older kernels either. Card is Broadcom BCM 43228 802.11a/b/g/n. Strange thing is, that lsmod shows module wl, lshw shows wlo1 bcm43228, but no wireless found??
Anyone know where from ask? I know that it is kmod from rpmfusion, but surely someon maintains it...? I have rpmfusion enable and kmod-wl installed, but can't get wifi working.
I tested with Linx Mint live stick, there was same situation, first no worky. But there was bcm-kernel-source, 6.30.223.271+bdcom-ubuntu 10-23.04-1, Broadcom 820.11 Linux STA wireless driver source, for BCM 43228 card. Installed that with Mints driverinstaller and wifi started to work.. Where do I find working driver for my Fedora 40.
I see that rpmfusion provides:
akmod-wl-6.30.223.271-51.fc40 Source : wl-kmod-6.30.223.271-51.fc40.src.rpm
This is the same version as the ubuntu one.
One may suspect thus an incompatibility with the kernel used in Fedora.
Have you looked in the system journal ?
Does "modinfo wl" provides options that may be related to the model of your card ?
