Yes, I've been through those documents.
But the solution is to get rtsp enabled
in the cameras and that seems to require
a Windows computer. My daughter tried
earlier today from her Mac portable and
gave up. I don't know why but I think it
always comes back to the required plugin
being a Windows .exeand other systems
wont deal with it. I've tried Safari and
Firefox in the iPhone and the response
is the same as from this Fedora desktop,
"what shall we use on this file?"
I probably could set up a Windows
computer using a spare hard drive and
use an XP oem disk for that. But I
really don't want to risk connecting XP
to my LAN, and my Windows user skills
are very poor, it would be a learning
exercise.
I may have to ship them to a friend and
get him to do it on his Windows system,
that or use different cameras, anything
withan ethernet output will work, it
just needs to be accessible as delivered
as were the others I'm using that did
not require the installation of a plugin
to be usable.
Or just continue using the iPhone which
does work. I need more cameras but I
guess they wont be Foscam C1's.
It seems that there are IP cameras that are not clones of each other, the ones that do not
require the plugin to access UI.

The change from the previous Reolink web based viewer is apparent right away – simply type
in the IP address of your camera in your browser and you are immediately prompted to login
– in previous installations, you would be presented with a hideous screen asking you to
install a plugin and forcing you to use Internet Explorer. With the latest update, you can
simply login and immediately start viewing the live video feed from your camera. [...]

Changed the activeX plugin to HTML5+SMTP, which supports more browsers, including IE 10,
IE 11, Edge, Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari and more operating systems, including Windows,
Linux, and Mac OS X.

Interesting, it seems that Reolink has a model of the same name as Foscam - C1

In fact it seems that Reolink also offers "Barn Security Cameras"

I'd like to hear your opinion,
considering the performance of these devices and promising software support (HTML5),
is the price of these devices fair?
