Dear fellow fedora users,
In including a soccer ball character in Unicode, I have found
https://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/26bd/index.htm
And it works. I try to include in latex document and the character does not show up. I have tried different variations after \documentclass{article} \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}
And none seem to work. Is there an easy way to include Unicode chars in latex.
use xelatex

How do I invoke it? I have texlive 2017 full scheme installed. I just use old latex+dvips+ps2pdf to create documents.
Here is MWE:
\documentclass[11pt,a4paper]{article}
\usepackage{fontspec} \newfontfamily{\uni}{Unifont}
\begin{document}
{\uni% \symbol{"26BD} }
\end{document}
This suppose that you have the unifont.ttf installed on your machine.
