The original cable is CAT-6. Distance is no more than around 10 feet.
The substitute cable is some random white thing that came with the
router. It's fairly thin and slightly flat.
I did do this cable swap before now, while testing all kinds of thing,
so I'm not convinced it's the culprit but I'm going to leave well alone
for now.
