If you want to use cpio to see the 2nd part you will have to use a dd if=initnam bs=512 skip=<blocksinthefirstsection> | zcat | cpio cmd
More easily,
/usr/lib/dracut/skipcpio $initramfs >$initramfs.cpio.gz
