Sure: hardware.slashdot.org, jobsearch.monster.com...there may have
been others, but I don't recall'em.  These are both sites I'd visit at
least once a day, and 'host' called'em up, but Firefox didn't- that's
what made it seem so weird.  (And I'd completely forgotten that I'd
turned on nscd....)
