Ditto. I have some other uses for this.
Me too, for example to start a regular backup with a .timer user unit.
It is also possible to have such units start at boot, by executing (once and as root):
loginctl enable-linger LOGIN ...
Currently I use "@reboot some-command" in the root crontab, but I'll take a look at that.
