I am not sure what you are doing but I am running compiz and Open office
components open for me.
Hmmm. Since that's the case, then it's not compiz per se that's the issue, then. I wonder if it's the Emerald theme or one of the compiz plugins...strace is the answer and I'll make time to do it in the next couple of days...
