Hello and thanks for the answer.
Indeed it is there, but as i told glassfish and old jboss where unable
to find and use it. i've added the short name and long name in
/etc/hosts, tomcat seems to don't care about it, it just works, but
those servers somehow fails to find the local ip address.

Is your host properly named in /etc/sysconfig/network ? There should be
a HOSTNAME= entry with the host's fully qualified domain name.
