That's true. However, it *defaults* to LVM.
i.e., users who did not change the defaults/do not know the implications of the defaults/do not even know what the defaults are or why they should change them, have LVM forced upon them.

It's a chicken-without-egg problem. You don't gain more testers or users, without lowering the barrier to entry in a friendly way.
