Good, knowing that I was able to effect a considerable improvement [for 
me] in the calendar display:

# Adjust font defaults for screen size

         font configure TkDefaultFont -size 14
         font configure TkFixedFont -size 12

}

I had to change the line " if {$h <= 1480} { " for the changes to be 
recognized. I would have liked to change the color scheme too but could 
not get that tp work, perhaps with some more time spent reading the 
tcl.tk instructions.
