if you use 'kdm', then edit /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc<br>open kdmrc with ur favourite editor and change the line 'AllowrootLogin true'. its not true on default installation.<br>and if you use 'gdm', then edit /etc/gdm/gdm.conf<br>
